About the journal

Library Journal is edited to provide a one-stop source for all the information that library directors, managers, and others in public, academic, and corporate/institutional libraries, need to run their libraries and make all their purchasing decisions--of everything from computer systems to books to software to furnishings; as well as for publishers, distributors, and other vendors in the library market. Both professional journal and working tool, LJ is the only independent journal in the field and the only one that is edited to be a conduit between vendors and librarians, and vice versa. It combines analytical news reports, features, and columns on the cutting edge of library technology, policy, management, and other issues and includes some 7500 evaluative reviews annually of books, audiobooks, videos/DVDs, databases, systems, and more, written by librarians for librarians.
