About the journal
The Journal of Psychopathology and Behavioral Assessment publishes articles reporting research investigations and clinical case summaries which enhance understanding of psychopathology and mental disorders applicable to all ages, deviant or abnormal behaviors, including those related to medical conditions and trauma, and constructs descriptive of personality. The Journal fosters scientific inquiry into assessment, description, and classification of normal and abnormal behaviors, psychobiological factors predisposing, precipitating, and maintaining psychopathology, and theories of psychopathology and behavior change. Studies of normal personality constructs and positive person attributes, person and environment factors influencing behavioral outcomes, and interactive models of cognitive, emotional, and behavior resource factors as impacting normal and abnormal behaviors are encouraged. Within Journal purview are articles focusing on therapeutic interventions, technical notes on instrumentation and assessment methodology, and reviews of recently-published books. Manuscripts are submitted to the Editorial Office at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Publication Policies Submission is a representation that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. A statement transferring copyright from the authors (or their employers, if they hold the copyright) to Springer Science+Business Media, Inc. will be required before the manuscript can be accepted for publication. The Editor will supply the necessary forms for this transfer. Such a written transfer of copyright, which previously was assumed to be implicit in the act of submitting a manuscript, is necessary under the U.S. Copyright Law in order for the publisher to carry through the dissemination of research results and reviews as widely and effectively as possible. Manuscript Style Type double−spaced, and submit the original and three copies (including, where possible, copies of all illustrations and tables). Abstract An abstract is to be provided, preferably no longer than 150 words.
Key Words A list of 4- 5 key words is to be provided directly below the abstract. Key words should express the precise content of the manuscript, as they are used for indexing purposes. Illustrations Illustrations (photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts) are to be numbered in one consecutive series of Arabic numerals. The captions for illustrations should be typed on a separate sheet of paper. Photographs should be large, glossy prints, showing high contrast. Drawing should be prepared with india ink. Either the original drawings or high quality photographic prints are acceptable. Artwork for each figure should be provided on a separate sheet of paper. Identify figures on the back with author's name and number of the illustration. Electronic artwork submitted on disk should be in TIFF or EPS format (1200 dpi for line and 300 dpi for half-tones and gray-scale art). Color art should be in the CMYK color space. Artwork should be on a separate disk from the text, and hard copy must accompany the disk. Tables Tables should be numbered and referred to by number in the text. Each table should be typed on a separate sheet of paper. References List references alphabetically at the end of the paper and refer to them in the text by name and year in parentheses. References should include titles of papers. General The journal follows the recommendations of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Fifth Edition. Contributors should refer to this publication in preparing manuscripts. Additional Information After a manuscript has been accepted for publication and after all revisions have been incorporated, manuscripts should be submitted to the Editor's Office as hard copy accompanied by electronic files on disk. Label the disk with identifying information- software, journal name, and first author's last name. The disk must be the one from which the accompanying manuscript (finalized version) was printed out. The Editor's Office cannot accept a disk without its accompanying, matching hard-copy manuscript. Page Charges The journal makes no page charges. Reprints are available to authors, and order forms with the current price schedule are sent with proofs.
