About the journal
Journal of Nonverbal Behavior presents original theoretical and empirical research on all major areas of nonverbal behavior. Specific topics include paralanguage, proxemics, facial expressions, eye contact, face-to-face interaction, and nonverbal emotional expression, as well as other subjects which contribute to the scientific understanding of nonverbal processes and behavior.

The online system offers easy straightforward log-in and submission; supports a wide range of submission file formats[Word,WordPerfect,RTF,TXT, and LaTeX for manuscripts; TIFF, GIF, JPEG,EPS,PPT,andPostscriptfor figures (artwork)]; eliminates the need to submit manuscripts as hard-copy printouts, disks, and/or e-mail attachments; enables real-time tracking of manuscript status by the author; and provides help should authors experience any submission difficulties (click on "Contact Us" from the toolbar).Manuscripts should be checked for content and style (correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar; accuracy and consistency in the citation of figures, tables, and references; stylistic uniformity of entries in the References section; etc.), as the typesetter is instructed to follow (accepted) manuscripts as presented. Page proofs are sent to the designated author for proofreading and checking. Typographical errors are corrected; authors alterations are not allowed.Acover lettershould accompany the manuscript indicating whether the author(s) wish(es) "open" or "masked" reviewing of the paper (i.e., whether or not the author is to be identified to the reviewers prior to the review). Manuscripts submitted without this information or not submitted in the form specified for "masked" review will be treated as "open" review.
