Instructions to Authors
Publication Policies The author(s) transfer(s) the copyright to his/ their article to Springer-Verlag effective if and when the article is accepted for publication. The copyright covers the exclusive and unlimited rights to reproduce and distribute the article in any form of reproduction (printing, electronic media or any other form); it also covers translation rights for all languages and countries. For U. S. authors the copyright is transferred to the extent transferable. It is a fundamental condition that no manuscript submitted has been or will be published elsewhere in any form or language without the publisher's permission.
Every manuscript should be submitted to the Editor electronically as a pdf-file. After the manuscript has been accepted for publication, the original file is required. Manuscript Submission Authors who prepare their papers with TeX are encouraged to ask for Springer-Verlag's TeX macropackages, called Pjourl (plain-TeX) and svjour.global (LaTeX), either by letter to Springer- Verlag or electronically via:

Manuscript Preparation When preparing manuscripts for the journal, please note the following points:
The form and content of the manuscript should be carefully checked to exclude the need for corrections at the proof stage. Manuscripts must be typed on one side of the paper only and with wide margins. References, tables and figure legends should be typed on separate sheets.
The first manuscript page should provide the title, names and affiliations with complete postal addresses of all authors, any footnotes to the title, address to which proofs are to be sent, a short running title and the e-mail address of the author to be contacted in order to accelerate communication.
Each paper is to be preceded by a short abstract, which should not exceed 12 typewritten lines. Up to five key words should also be furnished.
Footnotes to the text should be avoided.
References The list of references should be in alphabetical order and include the names and initials of all authors (see examples below). Whenever possible, please update all references to papers accepted for publication, preprints or technical reports, giving the exact name of the journal, as well as the volume, first and last page numbers and year, if the article has already been published or accepted for publication.
When styling the references, the following examples should be observed:
Journal article: Sprumont Y (1979) On the gametheoretic structure of public-good economies. Int J Game Theory 27:455-472
Books: Gandolfo G (1996) Economic dynamics. Springer-Verlag, Berlin Heidelberg
Single contributions in a book: Grunert KG (1994) Cognition and economic psychology. In: Brandstatter H, Guth W (eds.) Essays on economic psychology. Springer-Verlag, Berlin Heidelberg, pp. 91-108
Figures Figures are to be numbered consecutively. Preferably, the figures should be professional quality computer graphics, as output by standard office software or plotting packages. If possible encapsulated Postscript graphics should be imported into the manuscript in the places where they are intended to appear. On acceptance, authors will be requested to supply these Postscript files separately. Figures should be captioned informatively, so that they can be understood without referring to the text. Tables Tables are to be numbered separately from the illustrations. Each table should have a short title. Formulas Formulas should be numbered consecutively on the right-hand side of the page. Proof Corrections Authors make their proof corrections on a print out of the pdf file supplied. The author is entitled to formal corrections only. Corrections that lead to a change in the page layout should be avoided. Substantial changes in content, e.g. new results, corrected values, title and authorship are not allowed without the approval of the responsible editor. In such a case please contact the Editorial Office or the Editor-in-Chief before returning the proofs to the publisher. Offprints A total of 30 offprints of each paper will be supplied free of charge. Additional reprints can be ordered at cost price, in this case the author is entitled to receive a pdf-file of his article for his own personal use.
