Each of the regular issues (March, June, September and December) contains a number of articles and shorter papers on economic subjects. The May issue is the Papers and Proceedings (P&P) of the annual meeting. Selected papers and discussions of papers presented at the meetings are published along with reports of officers, committees, and representatives. Members of the AEA are entitled to receive AER and e-AER as part of their membership benefits. Libraries and other organizations may subscribe to AER and other AEA publications. Instructions to Authors Submission Guidelines Papers should be submitted electronically, in PDF format, to http://gemini.econ.umd.edu/aer/. Upon receipt of the paper, a confirmation email will be sent electronically. The submission is not complete if a confirmation email  has not been received. Instructions on how to convert documents into PDF format are available at https://gemini.econ.umd.edu/e-editor/pdftips.html Should there be an exceptional case where you are unable to submit electronic files in PDF format, please contact the AER office at 412-432-2300. Papers submitted to the AER should NOT be under consideration for publication at another journal. All submissions should be original work. Manuscripts longer than 50 pages are rarely accepted for publication. Papers should be typed on one side of the page only and double spaced. Please use Times New Roman font in 12-point type. Authors should not be identified anywhere in the paper. This includes links to data sets or appendices that are posted on the individual Web pages of the author(s). All acknowledgements must be removed. All submissions should include a separate title page with each author¡¯s name and contact information. All submissions should include an abstract of 100 or fewer words. All submissions should fully reference all prior work on the same subject and compare the submitted paper to that work. All data used in analysis MUST be clearly and precisely documented. All data used in analysis MUST be made available to any researcher for purposes of replication. See Data Availability Policy. Any requests for an exemption from the data availability policy should be made in the cover letter when the paper is first submitted. A reference list is required. See Sample References for the style of references. Submission Fees AEA members, $100 Non-members, $200 Members working in certain low-income countries are permitted lower fees. There is no fee for Resubmissions and Replies. Resubmission is by invitation of the coeditor only. Payments through the electronic system must be made by credit card.
