Instructions to Authors

Articles in the EJIR should be 5000-8000 words in length, including endnotes and references. Shorter commentaries or research notes, and (exceptionally) longer articles based on particularly substantial research, will be considered. Articles should not have been published, or be under consideration for publication, elsewhere. A note confirming this should be attached to each submission; in the case of jointly authored papers please also confirm that all authors have agreed to the submission on these terms.

Submission should normally be by e-mail attachment to the Editor [r.hyman@lse.ac.uk]; otherwise send by post, enclosing a hard copy and a disk, to Richard Hyman, European Journal of Industrial Relations, Industrial Relations Department, London School of Economics, Houghton Street, London WC2A 2AE, UK.

Manuscripts should be processed in Word for Windows and should follow the house style used in the Journal. However, please double-space and do not justify the text. For the purpose of anonymous review, please avoid indicators of your identity such as acknowledgements or excessive self-referencing. Biographical details are to be added after a manuscript has been accepted.

Authors are welcome to approach the Editor informally to discuss the suitability of a paper for the Journal at the above address.

Copyright

Before publication, authors are required to assign copyright to SAGE Publications, subject to retaining their right to reuse the material in other publications, written or edited by themselves, and due to be published at least one year later than initial publication in the Journal.

Review Copies

Publishers, please send books for review to the Editor, Richard Hyman.
