Instructions to Authors
Manuscript Submission: Submit three manuscript copies to the Editor, Gerald P. Koocher, Graduate School for Health Studies, Simmons College, 300 The Fenway, Boston, MA 02115. Electronic transmission of manuscripts is encouraged. Authors interested in using this option should contact the editor at koocher@simmons.edu for instructions. Prepare manuscripts according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th ed.). Type all components of the manuscript double-spaced, including title page, abstract, text, quotes, acknowledgments, references, appendixes, tables, figure captions, and footnotes. Except for brief case submissions, please include an abstract of 100-150 words with each manuscript. List three to five "key words" for database indexing at the bottom of the abstract page. Unaccepted manuscripts ordinarily will not be returned.
Blind Review: To facilitate anonymous review, only the article title should appear on the first page of the manuscript. An attached cover page must contain the title, authorship, and an introductory footnote with professional titles and mailing addresses of the authors and any statements of credit or research support. Every effort should be made by the authors to see that the manuscript itself contains no clues to their identities.
Permissions: Authors are responsible for all statements made in their work and for obtaining permission from copyright owners to reprint or adapt a table or figure or to reprint a quotation of 500 words or more. Authors should write to original author(s) and publisher to request nonexclusive world rights in all languages to use the material in the article and in future editions. Provide copies of all permissions and credit lines obtained.
Regulations: In a cover letter, authors should state that the findings reported in the manuscript have not been published previously and that the manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration elsewhere. Authors should also state that they have complied with appropriate ethical standards in the treatment of any participants in the work being reported.
Production Notes: Authors are responsible for reviewing page proofs to correct errors and answer editors' queries. Prompt return of page proofs is mandatory. Reprints may be ordered at the time page proofs are returned.
