Additionally, manuscripts should comply with the requirements in the author guidelines presented in the lead of issue 4 of volume 54 of the journal (Winter, 1994 p 837-847), and in ocassional Guidelines Editorials; these are available on the Internet at http:/acs.tamu.edu/~bbt6147. Requiring authors to submit IBM PC-compatible diskettes containing the manuscript in a WordPerfect (preferred) or ASCII text file, once a manuscript is accepted for publication, has created an economy facilitating the elimination of page costs for authors.
