About the journal
Description
Crime, Law and Social Change is a peer reviewed journal that publishes essays and reviews dealing with the political economy of organized crime whether at the transnational, national, regional or local levels anywhere in the world. In addition, the Journal publishes work on financial crime, political corruption, environmental crime, and the expropriation of resources from developing nations. The Journal is also committed to publishing in the general area of Human Rights including historical and contemporary studies of genocide, essays on compensation and justice for survivors of mass murder and state-sponsored terrorism, analyses of international human rights organizations (both governmental and NGOs), and historical as well as contemporary essays focused on gender, racial and ethnic equality. The Journal maintains an active policy of publishing thematic issues.

Online Manuscript Submission
Springer now offers authors, editors and reviewers of Crime, Law and Social Change the option of using our fully web-enabled online manuscript submission and review system. To keep the review time as short as possible (no postal delays!), we encourage authors to submit manuscripts online to the journal‘s editorial office. Our online manuscript submission and review system offers authors the option to track the progress of the review process of manuscripts in real time.

The online manuscript submission and review system for Crime, Law and Social Change offers easy and straightforward log-in and submission procedures. This system supports a wide range of submission file formats: for manuscripts - Word, WordPerfect, RTF, TXT and LaTex; for figures - TIFF, GIF, JPEG, EPS, PPT, and Postscript.

NOTE: By using the online manuscript submission and review system, it is NOT necessary to submit the manuscript also in printout + disk. In case you encounter any difficulties while submitting your manuscript on line, please get in touch with the responsible Editorial Assistant by clicking on “CONTACT US?from the tool bar.

Manuscripts should be submitted to:
General
Crime, Law and Social Change welcomes original articles, essays, comments, notes and book reviews in English, or English translations of articles in other languages that may have appeared elsewhere. Preference will be given to work which is theoretical or empirical, or directed at current political and policy debates.

Submission of a manuscript implies that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and further that, with the exception of review papers, original work not previously published is being presented. Copyright will reside with the publisher unless there is a private agreement with the author(s) to the contrary. Upon acceptance of an article by the journal, the author(s) will be asked to transfer the copyright of the article to the Publisher. This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information.

The manuscript should be arranged in the following order:
Title page


The title should be short and adequate.


A subtitle may be used to supplement and thereby shorten an excessively long main title.


Author‘s full name (if more than one, indicate to whom proofs and offprints should be sent).


Affiliation(s)/Address(es) should be complete.


Source reference (a footnote that an article was a part of a research project, was presented at a meeting, etc.)
Abstract
Abstract should be brief and informative, not to exceed 250 words.
Main text


The relative importance of headings and subheadings should be clear.


New paragraphs should be indicated by clear indentation.


Block quotations clearly distinguished from the running text.


Tables and figures, if any, must be mentioned in the text, and each numbered with Arabic numerals folowed by the title. Table footnotes should be marked with superscript numbers.
After the main text


Acknowledgements (also grants, support etc., if any)


Notes (references)


Appendix (if any)

Notes and References
Notes should be numbered consecutively, typed doubled spaced at the end of the article on separate pages, and in the text referred to by superscript numerals. Some examples to follow:
