About the journal
This well-established journal publishes high quality, scholarly research capturing the full range of approaches to the study of creativity--behavioral, clinical, cognitive, cross-cultural, developmental, educational, genetic, organizational, psychoanalytic, psychometric, and social. Interdisciplinary research is also published, as is research within specific domains such as art and science, as well as on critical issues such as aesthetics, genius, imagery, imagination, incubation, insight, intuition, metaphor, play, and problem finding and solving. Integrative literature reviews and theoretical pieces that appreciate empirical work are welcome, but purely speculative articles will not be published.

Instructions to Authors
Instructions to Contributors
 Manuscript Preparation: Prepare manuscripts according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th ed., 1994; American Psychological Association, P.O. Box 2710, Hyattsville, MD 20784), especially with regard to reference lists and text citations. Follow "Guidelines to Reduce Bias in Language" (APA Manual, pp. 46-60). Report exact probabilities (e.g., p = .03) and effect sizes. Using 8?x 11-in. nonsmear paper and 1-in. margins, type all components double-spaced and in the following order: title page (p. 1), abstract (p. 2), text (including quotations), references, appendices, footnotes, tables, and figure captions. On page 1, type article title, author name(s) and affiliation(s), running head (abbreviated title, no more than 45 characters and spaces), author notes and acknowledgments, submission date (month, day, and year on original manuscript and on any revisions), and name and address of the person to whom requests for reprints should be addressed; on page 2, type an abstract of 150 to 200 words. Indent all paragraphs. Use footnotes sparingly. Attach photocopies of all figures. Number all manuscript pages (including photocopies of figures).
Cover Letter, Permissions, Credit Lines: In a cover letter, include the contact author's complete mailing address, e-mail address, and telephone and fax numbers. State that the manuscript includes only original material that has not been published and that is not under review for publication elsewhere.
Authors are responsible for all statements made in their work and for obtaining permission to reprint or adapt a copyrighted table or figure or to quote at length from a copyrighted work. Authors should write to original author(s) and original publisher to see if permission is required and to request nonexclusive world rights in all languages to use the material in the current article and in future editions. Include copies of all permissions and credit lines with the manuscript. (See p. 140 of the APA Manual for samples of credit lines.)
Manuscript Submission: Prepare manuscript on a word processor and submit five (5) high-quality printouts to the Editor, Mark A. Runco, CAS, EC105, California State University, Fullerton, PO Box 6868, Fullerton, CA 92834-6868. E-mail: runco@exchange.fullerton.edu. Manuscripts are not returned.
Accepted Manuscripts and Computer Disk Submission: After manuscripts are accepted, authors are asked to sign and return copyright-transfer agreements and submit uniquely labeled, highly legible, camera-ready figures (use Times Roman font for text appearing in figures). It is the responsibility of the contact author to ascertain that all co-authors approve the accepted manuscript and concur with its publication in the journal. Submit a disk containing two files: word-processor and ASCII versions of the manuscript. File content must match the printed manuscript exactly, or there will be a delay in publication. Disks are not returned.
Production Notes: Files are copyedited and typeset into page proofs. Authors read proofs to correct errors and answer editors' queries. Authors may order reprints at that time.
