About the journal Agribusiness: An International Journal publishes research that improves our understanding of how food systems work, how they are evolving, and how public and/or private actions affect the performance of the global agro-industrial complex. The journal focuses on the application of economic analysis to the organization and performance of firms and markets in industrial food systems. Subject matter areas include supply and demand analysis, industrial organization analysis, price and trade analysis, marketing, finance, and public policy analysis. International, cross-country comparative, and within-country studies are welcome. To facilitate research the journal’s Forum section, on an intermittent basis, offers commentary and reports on business policy issues.

Format. Authors should refrain from complex formatting. Manuscripts should be double spaced on one side of the paper and must be no longer than 30 pages including references, not including tables and figures. Please note: Agribusiness is a double-blinded journal. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE IDENTIFYING INFORMATION (Authors' names and affiliations) IN YOUR MANUSCRIPT. Include names and affiliations on a separate "Tltle" page.
A 100-150 word abstract is required (including EconLit citations), which should have the heading "Abstract." Please classify your paper in at least one, but in no more than three, EconLit subject matter areas. The EconLit classification of subject matter areas is available at http://www.econlit.org/subject_descriptors.html. Please put the EconLit alphanumeric subject codes at the end of your abstract in brackets.
Where possible, material intended for footnotes should be inserted in the text as parenthetical material. The main text of the manuscript should be divided into numbered sections for clarity. For example: 3. SHUT-DOWN ANALYSES; 3.1 Shut-Down Analysis Based on Operational Control Protocols.
Tables & Figures. Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text. Placing them in a separate electronic file is best. Each table and figure should be cited in the text, and should be numbered and have an explanatory heading.
Author Biosketch. Provide a short paragraph for each author containing the following information: author name, current title and institution, e-mail and mailing addresses, degrees earned and when and from where they were earned, and a few topics of current research interest.
References. References should refer only to material listed within the text, and should be listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript. Examples of the proper style for in-text citations are (a) Jones (1996) stated, (b) Smith and Johnson (2003) reported, and (c) A recent study has shown the time period is longer (Smith & Johnson, 2003). Samples of the most common entries in reference lists appear below.
