The entire manuscript (including abstract, quotations, tabular material, and references) must be typed double-spaced, with ample margins.
Title Page: The title page should include (a) the article title; (b) the authors' names and affiliations at the time the work was completed; (c) the corresponding author's address, telephone number, and E-mail address if available; (d) a concise running title; and (e) an unnumbered footnote giving address for reprints and any acknowledgments. To facilitate anonymous review by two or more readers, all indication of authorship should be limited to the title page.
Abstract: An abstract of no more than 200 words should accompany each paper, typed on a separate sheet following the title page.
Headings: Major section headings should be centered on the page; secondary headings should be typed flush to the left margin. Use headings to organize and clarify the text.
References and Style: The reference section must be typed double-spaced and prepared following American Psychological Association style. All words cited in the text must be listed in the reference section. Avoid abbreviations of journal titles.Consult the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 3rd ed., 1983 for details.
Tables and Figures: All tables and figures should be numbered separately using Arabic numerals, and grouped together at the end of the manuscript. Clearly visible notes within the text should indicate their approximate placement. Figures must be camera-ready; photocopies, blue ink, or pencil are not acceptable. Use black india ink, and type figure legends on a separate sheet. Write article title and figure number lightly in pencil on the back of each.
Copyright and Originality: It is a condition of publication that manuscripts submitted to this journal have not been published and will not be simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere. All authors must sign a Transfer of Copyright Agreement, available from the editor, before the article can be published.
Page Proofs and Reprints: The corresponding author will receive page proofs for final proofreading and an order form for reprints and copies of the issue in which the article appears. Authorization of page charges at $35 per page is voluntary, is not a condition of publication, and entitles the author to 100 free reprints. Orders for reprints must be received before printing in order to qualify for lower prepublication rates.
