About the journal
The International Public Management Journal (IPMJ) publishes high-quality empirical and theoretical work on managing large organizations, particularly public organizations. IPMJ features work from scholars around the world who conduct research in the areas of public management and government reform, comparative public administration, organizational theory, and organizational behavior. IPMJ seeks to provide a bridge between those conducting research on public management and public administration on the one hand, and those working in the areas of organizational behavior and organization theory on the other. IPMJ intends to stimulate and reflect the academic interests of an international constituency of readers and scholars.
Peer Review Policy:
All research articles in International Public Management Journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by two anonymous referees.

International Public Management Journal (IPMJ) seeks to publish high-quality empirical and theoretical work on managing large organizations, particularly public organizations. We seek work from scholars around the world who conduct research in the areas of public management and reform, comparative public administration, organizational theory, organizational behavior, political science, economics, sociology, and social psychology and other disciplines. IPMJ seeks to provide a bridge between those conducting reasearch on public management and public administration on the one hand, and those working in the areas of organizational behavior and organization theory on the other. IPMJ intends to stimulate and reflect the academic interests of an international constituency of readers and scholars. Manuscripts are published in English and the editorial intent is to publish the work of authors from countries around the world. All articles published in IPMJ are double blind reviewed in accordance with standard academic journal procedures.
Submission of Manuscripts
IPMJ requests electronic submissions via the web at https://gemini.econ.umd.edu/ipmj. Submissions must be uploaded in PDF format. Submission information will be transmitted securely, and anonymity will be strictly maintained as your sumission is transmitted to referees. Moreover, PDF files will be automatically leansed?so that no identifying features will appear in the internal document metadata. Authors are responsible for making sure that author names or any other identifying information is removed from the text of the submitted article file. A separate title page should also be submitted. It should include full name of the authors, academic or professional affiliations, and the complete address (including e-mail address) of the person to whom proofs and correspondence should be sent. If you do not have internet access, please contact the Editor, Professor Steve Kelman, about your situation. Manuscripts will be accepted for review by the editors with the understanding that their content is unpublished and is not being submitted for publication elsewhere. Prior to final publication, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher.
Formatting
All materials must be typed (12-point, Times Roman font) and double-spaced on 8.5 x 11 inch white paper with 1-inch margins. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of no more that 150 words.
References
Include only references to books and articles actually cited in the text. All references should follow the Chicago Manual of Style (15th edition). References in the text should cite the author's last name, year of publication, and page number (where appropriate), e.g. (Smith 1999, 37). Examples of references in the reference list:

Illustrations
Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines: 300 dpi or higher; sized to fit on journal page; EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only; submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files. Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication.
Proofs
All proofs must be corrected and returned to the publisher within 48 hours of receipt. If the manuscript is not returned within the allotted time, the editor will proofread the article and it will be printed per his instruction. Only correction of typographical errors is permitted at the proof stage.
Reprints
Each corresponding author will receive one copy of the issue in which the article appears. Reprints of individual articles are available for order at the time authors review page proofs. A discount on reprints is available to authors who order before print publication.
