3.3. When an unnecessary passage is eliminated from a quotation, to indicate this suppression, suspension points must be used between square brackets.

Example: "In a village of La Mancha [匽, there lived not long since?".

3.4. If an external comment is included within a textual quotation, this comment must be placed in square brackets.

Example: "The story [historia, in Spanish] reflects the events in an ideal order".

4. Footnotes /

4.1. They must follow a consecutive numbering scheme for the entire article and be written at the bottom of the page.

4.4. The titles of book chapters and articles published in magazines and newspapers must be written in quotation marks.

SURNAME(S), Name, op. cit., p.

If there might be any possible confusion, since two works by the same author have been previously cited, the first two or three words of the title should be included before "op. cit.".

SURNAME(S), Name, First two or three words?/EM>, op. cit., p.

4.7. In reference to collective works, as far as possible, the expressions AA. VV. or various authors should be avoided since they provide hardly any information and do not help readers to locate the work.

The criterion applied by Comunicaci髇 y Sociedad for collective works is:

Up to three names: If there is more than one name, the lead author should be named first. If there is no lead author, the first name stated in the reference work should be included first.
More than three names: Just indicate the first or the first two or three authors, and omit the rest. 揈t al.?could be added to the last name.

Example:

MEDINA, Mercedes, HERRERO, M髇ica et al., Series de televisi髇: el caso de 揗edico de Familia? 揅u閚tame c髆o pas髷 y 揕os Serrano?/EM>, Ediciones Internacionales Universitarias, Madrid, 2008, p. 170.

5. Cited bibliography /

5.1. At the end of the article, a list of all the bibliography cited in the article must be included.

5.2. It must be presented in alphabetical order by author or editor. And different works by the same author must be included in descending chronological order.

6. Font Styles /

The following must be written in italics:

- The titles of books, magazines, newspapers (national and foreign), foreign words, etc.

- Latin phrases and abbreviations of Latin words.

Example:

1.2. Fuentes de ingresos de la BBC

The names of institutions must not be written in italics, even when they are not English.

7. Orthographical signs /

7.1. Upper case letters must carry accents if required in the original language.

Ejemplo: 羘gel (not Angel), 羏rica (not Africa), PERI覦ICO (not PERIODICO).

7.2. Full stops:

7.2.1. When the full stop comes after closed brackets or quotation marks/inverted commas, it must be placed after these signs.

Example: They told him it was "impossible to see him until the following month". It was the first time he had requested their services (having signed up six years earlier).

7.2.2. Superscript callout numbers that take readers to a footnote must be written before the full stop.

Example:

This is the opinion of As韓 Palacios5.

7.2.3. For numerical numbers written in figures, a comma is inserted after units of thousands and millions. However, it is not included in numbers that refer to years, pages and telephone numbers.

8.3. Any textual quotations must be written in quotation marks. The page number from which the quotation has been taken must then be included in brackets (p. 45). No details about the work should be repeated because the references are already shown in the review heading.

8.4. When a review is about a book written in a foreign language, any textual citations must be translated into English and placed in quotation marks, followed by the page number from which the quotation has been taken, written in brackets.

8.5. In the main body of the review, bibliographical references to other works must be written in brackets, detailing the following elements, in this order and separated by commas: author (if not the same as the author of the reviewed book), title of the work, publishers, city and year.
