About the journal
La Revista Estudios de Economía es publicada, desde 1973, dos veces al año por el Departamento de Economía Universidad de Chile. Su propósito es publicar trabajos de investigación, tanto empíricos como teóricos, en todos los campos de la economía. Todo trabajo ser?evaluado para su publicación por dos comentaristas anónimos. Como parte de nuestra política editorial, nos comprometemos a enviar una respuesta acerca de la situación de cada trabajo en un plazo no superior a los dos meses desde su recepción. De no hacerlo, los autores se encuentran en plena libertad de considerar otra revista para la publicación de su artículo. Estudios de Economía is published, since 1973, two times a year by the Department of Economics at the University of Chile. Its purpose is to publish empirical as well as theoretical papers in every field of Economics. All papers must go through refereeing process by two anonymous referees. As part of our editorial policy, an answer regarding the status of a paper will not exceed two months from its reception. If that were not the case, the authors are free to send their paper for consideration for publication elsewhere.

Estilo
Los artículos deberán ser escritos en inglés preferentemente o en español. Los artículos seleccionados serán publicados en el idioma original. Los artículos deberán ser mecanografiados de un solo lado y escritos a doble espacio con márgenes amplios.
?La primera página debe incluir la siguiente información: el título del artículo (en inglés y español), nombre y filiación del autor o autores y un resumen de no más de 100 palabras (en inglés y español). Incluya la clasificación del JEL y hasta 5 palabras clave que describan el artículo.
?Los notas de pie de página deberán restringirse al mínimo posible en su cantidad y extensión, ser numeradas correlativamente y evitar incluir fórmulas matemáticas.
?Las fórmulas matemáticas deberán ser numeradas en forma consecutiva. Cuando la derivación de una fórmula ha sido abreviada se deber?presentar en una hoja aparte la derivación del resultado, paso a paso.
?Los cuadros y gráficos se presentarán en hoja aparte. Deberán ser numerados, incluir toda la información necesaria para su interpretación as?como la fuente de datos.
?Las referencias bibliográficas deben ser citadas en el texto como sigue: Hirshleifer (1958). Cuando 3 o más autores sean citados deber?hacerse de la siguiente manera: Judge et al. (1985). El autor es responsable de que exista una perfecta correspondencia entre el nombre y el año de referencia y las anotaciones de la bibliografía.
?La bibliográfia, en orden alfabético, debe listarse al final del artículo siguiendo el siguiente patrón:
Hirshleifer, J. (1958). "On the Theory of Optimal Investment Decisions", Journal of Political Economy, Vol. 56; 279-394.
Judge G., W. Griffiths, R.Carter, H. Lutkepohl, y T. Lee. (1985). The Theory and Practice of Econometrics. 2a edición. John Wiley.
Manuscript Style
Papers should be written in English preferably or Spanish. The articles approved will be published in the original language. All submitted manuscripts should be typed on one side, with wide margins and double spaced.
?The first page must include the following information: paper title, name, address and affiliation of the author(s) and a summary of no more than 100 words. Include the JEL classification and up to five keywords that describe your paper for indexing purposes.
?Footnotes should be the fewest possible in quantity and extension. They must be numbered in serial order. Please avoid formulas in footnotes.
?Equations should be numbered in consecutive order. When the derivation of a formula has been condensed, an additional page should be included with a full derivation.
?Tables and graphs must be included in a different page. They should be numbered and should include all the information needed for interpretation as well as the data sources.
?References should be quoted in the text as follows: Hirshleifer (1958). Where three or more authors are listed in the reference list, please cite in the text as: Judge et al. (1985). The author is responsible for the existence of a perfect correspondence between names and year of the reference and what appear in the section of references.
?References should listed at the end of the paper alphabetically in the following style:
