The Infancia y Aprendizaje Foundation encourages its authors to read carefully the Journal’s recommendations for preparing manuscripts: publication is speeded by care in preparation! Contributions should be prepared in accordance with the American Psychological Association’s Publication Manual (4th edition), following the Real Academia Española rules for the accuracy in Spanish language. The FIA production department and/or the Editorial assistant of the journal should adapt the text and the section headings to the current FIA style.
The following are instructions on the mechanics of submitting manuscripts to publication. To determine whether a manuscript is appropriate for submision, please check the Journal Scope.
Submissions: The journal publishes either in Spanish or English. Papers must be original and not currently under review elsewhere, and authors are asked to certify this point in the covering letter. Normally, articles will be up to 44, 000 characters with spaces or 7, 000 words (including endnotes, references and other elements), typed in double space. The first page of the manuscript should contain: Title (reflecting exactly, but as brief as possible, the subject of the paper), author’s name (only first surname) and affiliation (University of? abstract (up to 175 words), keywords (up to 10) in Spanish and English, author’s complete address (e-mail and telephone numbers are welcome for editorial purposes), and acknowledgements, if any. If the paper is accepted, Infancia y Aprendizaje should ask for an extended summary of 1, 000 words in both languages, Spanish and English.
Initial submission: On the one hand, you must send by post an original printout of your paper plus a copy on an electronic support; on the other, you must also send a copy of the paper as enclosed file to our e-mail address:
Elena Martín y Juan Ignacio Pozo, Editors Infancia y Aprendizaje Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Facultad de Psicología Campus de Cantoblanco, 28049 Madrid, España infancia@uam.es
Reviewing: Manuscripts are screened first by Editors in order to check if they fit the scope of the journal before sending to an Associate Editor, who will send it to review to two or three representative referees. If the author prefers the manuscript to be reviewed anonimously, he/she should indicate it in the covering letter, and all information about authorship including personal acknowledgements and institutional affiliation should be confined to a removable front page, avoiding in the texts self-citations, and the paper’s title should be repeated on the first page of the text. Authors will receive the comments of the reviewers, along with a letter from the Associate Editor and the Editors. Submitted manuscripts will not be returned to the authors. Final version: Upon acceptance, authors are requested to send an electronic file along with a final version of the paper and attend to the Editors?formal requirements. Proofs and reprints: Proofs are sent to the corresponding author for correction, but not for the insertion of new or different material. They should be returned to the journal within 10 days of receipt. Author s will receive 20 off-prints plus one copy of the journal upon publication, and are entitled to a discount of 50% on issues in which he/she is author (subject to stock availability). Copyright: Authors are requested to assign copyright to Fundación Infancia y Aprendizaje and will receive a copyright agreement along with the proofs . Authors are responsible for obtaining copyright permission for reproducing any ilustrations, tables, figures or lengthly quotations taken from other authors.
