The European Journal of the History of Economic Thought (EJHET), a peer-reviewed journal, has quickly established itself as a leading forum for lively discussion on a wide range of issues in the history of economic thought. With contributions from both established international scholars and younger academics, EJHET is entirely pluralist and non-partisan with regard to subjects and methodologies - it does not subscribe to any particular current of thought, nor relate to any one geographic zone.
The Managing Editors and Editorial Board and Advisory Board members are drawn from throughout Europe and beyond, and are committed to encouraging scholars from around the world to contribute to international research and debate. The result is a genuinely fresh and exciting journal - a vital purchase for every scholar or library with a serious interest in the history of economic thought.
Manuscript Submissions
All submissions should be made online at the EJHET Manuscript Central site. New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site submissions should be made via the Author Centre.
Submission of a paper to the journal will be taken to imply that it presents original, unpublished work not under consideration for publication elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, the authors agree that the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article have been given to the Publisher, including reprints, photographic reproductions, microfilm, or any other reproductions of a similar nature and translations, although the copyright is retained by the author.
If you are experiencing genuine difficulties in using the system, please email Jos?nbsp;Luís Cardoso at jcardoso@ics.ul.pt.
The Manuscript
Manuscripts should be typed in double spacing (including notes and references), in journal style. Authors should be prepared to supply a list of 5 keywords and an abstract of less than 100 words, consistent with that request by the Journal of Economic Literature for each paper. Papers should not normally exceed 10,000 words in length. All contributions (papers, book reviews, etc.) must be in English; it is the author's responsibility to ensure the quality of the English text. Where quotations in languages other than English are required, authors are asked to provide a translation into English in the text or a note.
Authors are asked to keep the use of mathematics to a minimum; if possible mathematical arguments should be put in an appendix to the main text.
Notes should be kept to a minimum and placed at the end of the text before the references.
Book Reviews
All book review submissions should be made online at the EJHET Manuscript Central site. New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site submissions should be made via the Author Centre.
Electronic Processing
We welcome figures sent electronically, but care and attention to these guidelines are essential as importing graphics packages can often be problematic:
- Figures must be saved individually and separate to text. Please do not embed figures in the paper file.
- Avoid the use of colour and tints for purely aesthetic reasons.
- Figures should be produced as near to the finished size as possible.
- All figures must be numbered in the order in which they appear in the paper (e.g. figure 1, figure 2). In multi-part figures, each part should be labelled (e.g. figure 1(a), figure 1(b)).
- Figure captions must be saved separately, as part of the file containing the complete text of the paper, and numbered correspondingly.
- The filename for the graphic should be descriptive of the graphic, e.g. Figure1, Figure2a.
- Files should be saved as one of the following formats: TIFF (tagged image file format), PostScript or EPS (encapsulated PostScript), and should contain all the necessary font information and the source file of the application (e.g. CorelDraw/Mac, CorelDraw/PC).
Please note that it is in the author's interest to provide the highest quality figure format possible. Please do not hesitate to contact our Production Department if you have any queries.
Permission to reproduce copyright material must be obtained by the author before submission and any acknowledgements should be included in the typescript or captions as appropriate. Photographs, if used, should be high-contrast black and white glossy prints and permission to reproduce them must be obtained before submission.
A short biographical note about the author should accompany each paper.
No payment is made to authors.

Copyright
It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or license the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors may, of course, use the article elsewhere after publication without prior permission from Taylor & Francis, provided that acknowledgement is given to the Journal as original source of publication, and that Taylor & Francis is notified so that our records show that its use is properly authorised. Authors retain a number of other rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies documents. These policies are referred to at http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authorrights.pdf for full details. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources
