About the journal
Open-access journal on the occurrence, distribution, transport, transformation and effects of environmental pollutants, and their impact on living organisms.
Aims and scope
Environmental Pollutants & Bioavailability is an open access journal that researchesenvironmental pollutants and their impacts on biota and other living organisms.
The Journal aims to promote the research, discussion, review, and spread of information on environmental pollutants and bioavailability. Topics discussed will be of interest to researchers in many disciplines, including environmental, chemical, biological, food, medical, toxicology, and health sciences and technologies.
Environmental Pollutants & Bioavailability publishes research around the occurrence, distribution, transport, transformation, transfer, fate, and effects of environmental pollutants, as well as their impact on living organisms, such as:
- Heavy metals and their impact
- Persistent organic pollutants and their impact
- Emerging contaminants, such as engineered nanomaterials
- Pharmaceuticals and personal-care products as pollutants
Key themes of the Journal include the following “6Ms”:
- Methods for speciation analysis and the evaluation of the bioavailability of environmental pollutants, especially the development, validation, and application of novel methods and techniques.
- Media that sustain the processes of release, distribution, transformation, and transfer of environmental pollutants; of particular interest are emerging contaminants, such as engineered nanomaterials, pharmaceuticals, and personal-care products.
- Mobility of pollutants in the environment and biota, either spatially or temporally.
- Matters that influence pollutant speciation and bioavailability, mainly environmentally relevant conditions.
- Mechanisms that govern the release, distribution, fate, and transport of environmental pollutants.
- Models for the simulation of the release, distribution, fate and transport, transformation, bioavailability, bioaccumulation, and toxicity of environmental pollutants .
Environmental Pollutants & Bioavailability operates a singl e-blind peer review policy.
Indexing Environmental Pollutants & Bioavailability is included in the following services:
- DOAJ
- GoOA
- Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE)
