Paper Types
Before submitting an article to JGR-Space Physics, please review the following acceptable paper types:
- Regular article: A full-length paper describing new geophysical results.
- Technique: A full-length article describing a new technique written to conform with the Policy on Referencing Data in and Archiving Data for AGU Publications . Such a paper must also include at least one new science application demonstrating the usefulness of the technique as a basis for new and interesting scientific results.
- Brief Report: A paper that would not exceed six published pages which contains either new geophysical research results or a description of a new technique or data set.
- Review Paper: A paper that reviews past research on a particular topic of space physics.
- Comment: A short paper commenting on a particular aspect of another paper previously published in JGR-Space Physics.
- Reply: An author’s reply to a Comment
- Correction: An author’s correction to a substantial error in a paper previously published in JGR-Space Physics.
- Data Report: A full-length article describing a new data set written to conform with the Policy on Referencing Data in and Archiving Data for AGU Publications . Such a report must also include at least one new science application demonstrating the usefulness of the data set as a basis for new and interesting scientific results.
Revisions
When submitting a revised manuscript, your submission must include the following elements:
1. Point-by-point responses to reviewer comments
• Multiple reviewer responses can be uploaded in a single document, clearly labeled with Reviewer #1, Reviewer #2, etc.
• Upload as file type (from drop-down menu): Response to Reviewer
2. A “tracked-changes” version of your revised manuscripts showing changes made since previous version.
• Use “Track changes” feature in Word or Latex, or make use of bold or highlighted text
• Upload as file type (from drop-down menu): Response to Reviewer
3. A file that contains figures paired with captions directly beneath each figure.
• Upload as file type (from drop-down menu): Response to Reviewer
• This may be combined with the tracked-change file (#2) to satisfy both requirements
4. Publication ready files:
• Article file: Publication-ready article files are limited to Word documents (.doc or .docx) or LaTeX files (.tex). Upload as file type (from drop-down menu): Article
• Figure files: Figures must be uploaded as separate files in eps, tiff, pdf, jpg, or png. These should not include captions or “figure 1″ style labels. Upload as file type (from drop-down menu): Figure
