Journal of Arthropod-Borne Diseases (Formerly: Iranian Journal of Arthropod-Borne Diseases) the scientific publication of the Iranian Society of Medical Entomology (ISME) is approved by the National Journal Commission, Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education. The journal publishes original research paper, short communication, scientific note, case report, letter to the editor, and review article in English. The scope of papers comprises all aspects of arthropod borne diseases including:
● Systematics ● Vector ecology ● Epidemiology ● Immunology ● Parasitology ● Molecular biology ● Genetics ● Population dynamics ● Toxicology ● Vector control ● Diagnosis and treatment and other related subjects.

Focus and Scope
Journal of Arthropod-Borne Diseases, the scientific publication of the Iranian Society of Medical Entomology (ISME), was approved for publication by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran in December 2006. The journal publishes original research paper, short communication, scientific note, case report, letter to the editor, and review article in English.
The scope of papers comprises all aspects of arthropod borne diseases including:

● Molecular biology
● Genetics
● Population dynamics

Author Guidelines
The “Journal of Arthropod-Borne Diseases” is the official scientific semiannual publication of the Iranian Society of Medical Entomology (ISME).
It accepts original research paper, short communication, case report, scientific note, review article and letter to the editor in the fields of arthropod-borne diseases. All correspondences should be addressed to:

1. Submission: Papers submitted for publication should describe original work, not previously published elsewhere, totally or partly. Manuscripts must be submitted only in English and should be written according to sound grammar and proper terminology. Submission is only acceptable via Journal URL: http://jad.tums.ac.ir
2. Manuscript must be accompanied by a covering letter to the Editor-in-Chief, including title and author(s) name and undertaking that it has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
3. The title page of the paper should only con- tain the title, name(s), degree(s) and addresses (Tel, Fax, and Email) of the author(s).
4. The manuscript should include: Title; No author(s) name; the Abstract; Introduction; Materials and Methods; Results; Discussion; Acknowledgements and References.
5. The abstract (no more than 250 words) including Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion followed by 3 to 5 Keywords must be presented.
6. Tables in limited numbers should be submitted with the captions placed above. Do not submit tables as photograph. Place explanatory matters in footnotes, not in the heading.
7. Figures should be in limited numbers, with high quality art work and mounted on separate pages. The captions should be placed below.
8. The same data should not be presented in tables, figures and text, simultaneously.
9. References in limited numbers and up-to dated should be assembled alphabetically on a separate sheet. In the text they should be referred to by name and year (Harvard system), the year being placed in parentheses, e.g., (Jones 1970). More than one paper from the same author in the same year must be identified by the letters a, b, c, etc., placed after the year of publication. In the text, when referring to a work by more than two authors, the name of the first author should be given followed by et al. Literature references must consist of names and initials of all authors, year, title of paper referred to, abbreviated title of periodical, volume number and first and last page numbers of the paper. Periodicals, books and multi-author books should be in accordance with the following examples.

10. Abbreviations and symbols use only stan- dard abbreviations. Avoid using them in the ti- tle and abstract. The full term for which an ab- breviation stands should precede its first use in the text unless it is a standard unit of measurement.
11. Short communication when possible; follow the same structure as original papers.
12. The corresponding author will be supplied with 2 free issues.
13. Ethics: The relevant Ethics committee/ institution review boards of the respective institutions must approve the study.
14. Informed consent of the patients participating in the study should be undertaken.
15. The sole responsibility for the whole contents of the paper (views and statements) remains only to the author(s).
16. Conflicts of interest: Submitting a manuscript must be accompanied with a statement from the authors disclosing all financial and personnel relationship that might bias their work, if any. Besides, they are requested to evident whether impending conflicts do or do not exist. A separate page should cover this proclamation and if there are further details, could be mentioned in covering letter. If an organization encompasses any financial interest in the outcome of the study, the authors are appealed to provide a declaration that have full access to all the data in the study and take complete responsibility for the integrity of the data and the accuracy of the data analysis.
17. Page charges: There are no charges for publication in this Journal.
18. Copyright: Accepted manuscripts become the permanent property of the Journal and may not be reproduced, in whole or in part, without the written permission of the Editor.
19. Peer review process: J Arthropod-Borne Dis is a peer reviewed journal. All manuscripts will be acknowledged upon presenting to the Journal office, provided that all stated requirements are met. The manuscript is sent to two or more reviewers. The whole review process depends on receiving referees' comments and revising the manuscripts based on these comments to the author. On receipt of the revised article from the author, and after final approving by referees, the letter of acceptance is issued to the author. Authors have the right to communicate to the editor if they do not wish their manuscript to be reviewed by a particular reviewer because of potential conflicts of interest. The author can also suggest the name of possible competent reviewers but it is up to the editor to accept it. No article is rejected unless negative comments are received from at least two reviewers.
20. Disposal of material: Once published, all copies of the manuscript, correspondence and artwork will be held for 6 months before disposal.
The Editorial Board of the journal, reserves the right to accept or reject the article in any stage and any time or delete a part of the text, tables or figures, if necessary.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
