Focus and Scope
Journal of Applied Botany and Food Quality (JABFQ) is an international journal dedicated to all aspects related to applied research in the fields of botany and plant food quality. The aim of the journal is to provide a platform for scientists all over the world to disseminate their recent results in various fields of plant research such as plant breeding and cultivation, phytomedicine, plant nutrition, plant stress and resistance, plant microbiology, plant analysis (including -omics techniques), and plant food chemistry. All manuscripts are written in English, and are subjected to a carefully performed peer-review process. Accepted papers will be published online immediately and freely accessible for everyone. JABFQ publishes original articles, reviews and letters.
The publications of the journal are indexed by Biosis database, Chemical Abstracts, Current Contents (Agriculture, Biology, Environmental Sciences), Derwent Crop Protection File, Ecological Abstracts, Geographical Abstracts (Human Geography/Physical Geography), Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA), GEOBASE, PASCAL, SciSearch, Research Alert, Science Citation Index, SUBIS Current Awareness in Biomedicine, Tobacco Abstracts, VINITI (Russian Academy of Science).
JABFQ has a distinguished editorial board of leading researchers. A current list of the journal’s editors can be found here. All interested readers are able to freely access the journal online. All volumes of the journal from 2007 (volume 80) are also available free of charge.
All submissions are subjected to peer review by two expert scientists in the respective field. We aim to complete the review and decision-making process within 6 weeks. Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, it will undergo typesetting and reference validation.
The author may suggest potential reviewers to bring experts in the field to the editors attention. To ensure an unbiased review process, scientists employed at the author's institution should not be named.
Publication Charges
The publication charge is €50 for each publication. The author will get a notification with payment details after the manuscript is accepted for publication. Please read this email carefully and follow the instructions. This charge enables the publisher to make the journal available for free to all interested online visitors.
This minimal publication fee can not be waived for any reason. Please realize that it covers only a small fraction of the production costs for the journal and that the publishing societies cover the remaining part.
Therefore, individual members of DGQ or VAB are allowed to publish their accepted manuscript free of charge.
