About the journal
Arthropod Systematics & Phylogeny, formerly Entomologische Abhandlungen, started in 2006 with Vol. 64 (1) and supersedes the 'Entomologische Abhandlungen'which had been a separate entomology journal since 1962. Its roots date back to the 'Mitteilungen aus dem K. Zoologischen Museum zu Dresden', which started 1875. This journal underwent numerous modifications of the name, and between 1960 and 1962 it was split into five journals, one on Malacology, one on Faunistics, one on vertebrate Zoology, and two on Entomology. The second entomological journal, 'Reichenbachia', ceased in 2002.
