Instructions to Authors
General Editorial Policy
Periodica Mathematica Hungarica publishes papers in any major field of mathematics. In order to be accepted for publication a paper must be correct and must contain new and nontrivial, mathematically relevant results. Furthermore, it must be presented in such a way that a broad class of educated mathematicians, who are not necessarily top specialists of the actual narrow field of the paper, be able to read it with interest. Partial results, inconclusive steps towards some major goal or minor variations of older known results are in general not acceptable for publication in our journal. There is no principal limitation on the length of the papers, but excessively long papers (say, 30+ TEX-pages) are considered for publication only in exceptional cases.
Submission Information
Two hard copies should be sent directly to the Editor whose research interest is closest to the topics of the paper to be submitted. The List of Editors with their postal
addresses and research interests can be found on the last pages of every issue. In exceptional cases, when the corresponding author is undecided about the best choice of the Editor, a paper may be submitted to the Editorial Office in Szeged, but the author should be aware of the fact that sending the paper to the Editorial Office could slow down the editorial procedure considerably. In order to facilitate communication between Editors and Authors, the latter are kindly asked to provide an e-mail address with their submission. The Editors acknowledge receipt of the submitted paper electronically.

The article should have an informative title followed by an abstract that summarizes the article, written suitably for a wide readership. The title of the article should be short and concise. Immediately after the abstract the 2000 AMS Mathematics Subject Classification number representing the primary and secondary subjects of the article should appear, followed by a list of key words and phrases describing the subject matter of the article and taken from it. At the end of the manuscript the full postal address of all authors should appear, along with their electronic addresses.

Authors are encouraged to prepare their manuscript in any form of TEX (Plain TEX, AMS-TEX or LATEX are equally acceptable). But, even if the article is prepared electronically, at initial submission hard copies should be sent to the Editors, as specified above. Regularly, the TEX-file of the paper will be requested only after acceptance for publication.
(However, it might happen that some of the Editors will request the TEX-file during the refereeing process.) Authors of manuscripts not prepared with any form of TEX (these are rare exceptions, by now) are asked to follow the traditional instructions which can be found in any pre-nineties publications of any major scientific publisher.

Authors will be notified by the Editor responsible for the topics of their paper about the final decision taken after the refereeing procedure. At this stage the authors of accepted papers will be asked to contact the Editorial Office in Szeged, to send in the final accepted version of their paper, electronically if possible. Due to financial restrictions, unfortunately, we are not able to send back the manuscripts of rejected papers.

No page charges are levied on authors of accepted papers or their institutions. The Publisher supplies 25 offprints of each published paper free of charge. Additional copies can be ordered from the Publisher.
Springer Open Choice
In addition to the normal publication process (whereby an article is submitted to the journal and access to that article is granted to customers who have purchased a subscription), Springer now provides an alternative publishing option: Springer Open Choice. A Springer Open Choice article receives all the benefits of a regular subscription−based article, but in addition is made available publicly through Springers online platform SpringerLink. To publish via Springer Open Choice, upon acceptance please click on the link below to complete the relevant order form and provide the required payment information. Payment must be received in full before publication or articles will publish as regular subscription−model articles. We regret that Springer Open Choice cannot be ordered for published articles.
