About the journal
The Journal of Essential Oil Bearing Plants (JEOBP) was started by late Mr. Har Krishan Lal Bhalla in 1998 for promotion and utilization of essential oil bearing plants, and sharing the international research experiences in this field. The aim of the journal is to benefit to all who have interest in essential oil-bearing plants. It is a subscribed and peer-reviewed journal. Now 6 issues per year are published and are also available online.
Instructions to Authors
Editorial Policy :JEOBP invites full research papers and short reports describing original experimental results, and review articles in the areas of cultivation, processing, chemistry and application / utilization of essential oil bearing plants. The publisher will not be responsible for any illegal work, wrong statement in papers or any other events related to publication. Such responsibility will lie solely with the authors.
Submission of Manuscripts:All manuscript (one original and two double sided copies) together with a covering letter from the author of correspondence should be submitted to the Managing Editor.

Author can also submit their manuscripts by e-mail. English is the official language of the journal. Research papers representing original research not previously published and not being considered for publication elsewhere only should be submitted. Manuscript must accompany a declaration from the corresponding author that the manuscript is submitted on behalf of all authors. Copy right belongs to the publisher upon acceptance of the manuscript.
There is no page charges. Rejected manuscript will not be returned to the authors. Submission of a manuscript signifies acceptance of journal’s Guidelines for authors.
Preparation of Manuscripts: Manuscripts must be typed double spaced throughout text and references on A-4 size paper and submitted in triplicate, one original (one sided) and two copies (double sided). Title of the manuscript should be as brief as possible and typed on a separate page with affiliation and addresses of all the authors, including corresponding author with an asterisk. The fax and e-mail number of the corresponding author should be provided as a foot note on the title page. The subject matter of the paper should be arranged in the following order under short headings. Abstract, Key words, Introduction, Experimental, Results and Discussion. The abstract (maximum 300 words) should be an intelligent summary of purpose, methods, results and conclusion, without the use of references followed by 4-10 key words. The experimental section should contain sufficient detail so that others are able to reproduce the experiment(s). Previously reported method should be referenced only. Results and Discussion section should discuss the salient point of the observation with critical interpretation. References should be cited in the text by Arabic superscripts and should be arranged consecutively in the list of references according to the numbers in the text. The list of references should be on separate page. Authors bear the complete responsibility for the accuracy of the references. The following examples illustrate the format for reference:

If reference is made to papers submitted or in press, authors are requested to enclose a copy of manuscript or galley proof. References to unpublished personal communication should be avoided. Tables and figures, if any, should be on separate pages and must be referred to in the text by Arabic numerals and must have a title. Indicate footnotes within tables by superscript small letters, and type footnotes below the table. Structural formulas, if any, should be prepared using Chem Drawâ or similar programs. Abbreviations should generally be used sparingly. Use the metric system for all measurements, if possible. Metric abbreviations should be expressed in lower case without period e.g. cm. ml. s. While documenting plants and plants materials, correct botanical nomenclature should be used. Plant name should be underlined or italic followed by author of this name and the plant family. Indicate who identified the plant material. The manuscript must include reference to voucher specimens of the plants or the material examined including their registration number(s). Such specimens should be deposited in a major regional herbarium which permits loan of such material. Nomenclature used should be based on the systematic rules adopted by IUPAC (Nomenclature of Organic Chemistry. Parts. A.B & C. Pergaman Press 1979). Chemical Abstracts (Index Guide Vol. 76). Ring index and Supplements (American Chemical Society. 1959-1965) etc. Trivial names should be avoided unless they are definitely advantageous over the corresponding systematic names. Shorts reports should be concise reports on new specific results of general interest. The material of the short report should contain a short abstract (maximum 100 words): no key words: introduction, brief experimental details: results and discussion (all are without headlines): references (headline). A brief acknowledgement should be given after text and before reference.
General Information: While submitting the manuscripts electronically. two paper versions of both text and figures, in addition to the electronic files, must be submitted. in case of doubt the paper version is given the higher priority. The corresponding author is requested to provide a signed declaration that the paper and electronic version are identical. The name with designation and contact address including email address of two reviewers must be submitted with the manuscript on a separate sheet.
