About the journal
Introduction
As the transaction of Foundry Institution of China Mechanical Engineering Society, CHINA FOUNDRY (English edition, 16 mo.), ISSN 1672-6421, CN21-1498/TG, is edited and quarterly published by Foundry Journal Agency. Since the first publication in 2004, it has been distributed to more than 50 countries and regions, and mainly circulated to foundries, institutes, universities and other people who pay attention to the foundry industry of China.
Abstracting and indexing services that cite the CHINA FOUNDRY include: SCI Expanded, Chemical Abstracts and Cambridge Science Abstracts of Ameiric, and Abstracts Journal of Russia.
As a foundry journal of English edition in China, CHINA FOUNDRY contains all the latest developments concerning cast metals and associated industries in China. It provides a platform for enterprises, institutions, industry organizations, etc. to communicate, and enhances business and technical collaboration throughout the world.
CHINA FOUNDRY contains columns such as Special Review, Research and Development, Information, Casting Suppliers, Web Guide, Prices of Castings and Materials, and so on. It also opens an advertising opportunity to foundry and associated industries all over the world.

Instructions to Authors
Notes for Contributors
Submissions:
Papers submitted for publication in CHINA FOUNDRY must be typed in English in the form of Word format and should be sent online at http://www.foundryworld.com/omrs.htm.
And your submission of Chinese version at one time is appreciated. The title page must include the title of the paper, authors'names, current places of work and such names as city, postcode and nation should be affixed too. Note is that the author's name for China should abide by the order of first name after family name, and first name must be spelt out in full. Author's working place should be written out in full (not using abbreviations).
Units, Symbols and Abbreviation
SI units should be used. Unusual abbreviations should be avoided, and all abbreviations that are used must be spelt out in full (with the abbreviation in parentheses) the first time they appear in the test. Symbols should be explained clearly.
References
References in the text should be numbered by superscripts in the right and listed on a separate sheet annexed after text. Note is that the author names of paper should abide by the order of first name before family name and first name must be spelt out in full. The structure of each sort of references in the sheet is presented in the following manner.
1. Monograph
Author name, name of book, place of publication, publishing house, year of publication.
2. Translation's book
Author name, name of book, translator, place of publication, publishing house, year of publication.
3. Patent
Applicant, name of patent, country, patent number, date of release, publishing house, year of publication, range of page.
4. Degree Thesis
Author name, title of thesis, city and unit of preserving the thesis, year of publication.
5. Proceedings
Author, title of article, name of proceedings, place of publication, publishing house, year of publication, page numbers.
6. Technology Standard
Code of technology standard, title of technology standard.
7. Technology Report
Author name, title of report, code and serial number of report, unit of preserving report, year of publication
8. Newspaper
Author name, headline of newspaper, name of newspaper, date of publication.
9. Serial Publication
Author name, title of article, place and year of publication, name of journal, volume number (issue number), page numbers.
10. Electronic Literature [EB/OL]
Author name, name of paper, website, date of publication.
11. Literature in CD [EB/OL]
Author name, title of article, place and date of publication, publication company.
Tables, Figures, Photographs and Photomicrographs
Three-line table should be recommended. Tables must be numbered and referred sequentially in the text.
All figures, photographs should be marked with a sequential number and appropriately corresponding caption, and indicated in the text in the good order. Photographs should be of high contrast, which should be glossy, properly focused and exposed. Photomicrographs should not bear the legend “magnification x 100st1:chmetcnv> (or similar). Instead, a scale bar should be superimposed on the print. The line drawings with a computer should be proper in size, clear in lines. For those pictures from a digital camera / a scanner, the pels of them should be more than 800×600 for reaching a good definition.
Brief introduction to the first author
Brief introduction to the first author at title page must contain:
1. Full contact details, including telephone and e-mail address
2. Directions of research
3. The title of a technical or professional post
4. Sex, date of birth
