One deals both with traditional developments and with very modern new areas (such as molecular computing). According to the instructions to authors, the main criterion for accepting a paper is not necessarily its subject, but its quality. The journal is of a usual research type, devoted to original research papers, unpublished elsewhere. Exceptionally, also survey papers of a high quality, PhD theses or conference volumes are published. Each paper is refereed by two reviewers (when any difficulty appears, a third referee report is asked for). In the three years since ROMJIST appeared, the journal has published papers by authors from more than twenty countries. On the one hand, this proves the efficiency of the editorial board, and on the other hand, this convincingly shows that the domain is a well developed and an active one, that the journal is viable, necessary and successful. Instructions to Authors The Publishing House of the Romanian Academy The Publishing House of the Romanian Academy is an institution subordinated to the Romanian Academy, having juridical status, and functioning according to the law no.752/2001 and to the Romanian Academy Status. It is financed by the State Budget, also from its own incomes and other financing sources. The publishing house was found in 1948 continuing and developing ever since, the publication of books and periodicals began in 1868 by the high scientific cultural Romanian academic forum. The Publishing House of the Romanian Academy publishes: * Papers regarding the activity of the Romanian Academy, of the scientific sections and of the subordinated institutions (annals, yearbooks, memoirs, reception speeches, papers of scientific workshops, symposia or congresses, etc.); * Important papers from the research plans approved by the Romanian Academy Presidium. * Critical editions of the works belonging to classic authors of the Romanian literature and science, treatises and historic or other documents, linguistic atlas * Works of the Romanian Academy members and of some Romanian specialists and personalities. * Papers written in international languages in order to spread Romanian scientific, cultural and spiritual creation; * Papers in which the Romanian Academy recommends the correct use of the grammatical, orthographical, orthoepical, punctuation rules of the Romanian language; * Papers meant to scientifically educate readers in all the fields; * Periodicals publications of the sections, commissions, research centers and institutions of the Romanian Academy (85 titles at present). The Publishing House of the Romanian Academy publishes also information on CD or multimedia products, CD-ROM type, with animation and audio recordings, for example: the CD-ROM Bibliografia Mihai Eminescu. Partea I (1866-1938), product accompanying the XVII volume of the poet's Works, published in 1999,CD-ROM entitled Lasers in Neurology presenting the work with the same title, written by Leon Dănǎilă, corresponding member of the Romanian Academy, and Mihail-Lucian Pascu (published in 2000) or the CD of Prelucrarea imaginilor si recunoasterea formelor - teorie si aplicatii, written by Mihail Bulea. The Publishing House of the Romanian Academy co-edits other papers with foreign and Romanian publishing houses. Starting with 2002, it develops extra budgetary activities, earning its own incomes used for printing costs of these papers or other ones, also for the copyright payments, technical devices, etc. The publishing house benefits from some governmental institutions (National Cultural Fund Administration, National Authority for Scientific Research), also from institutions, firms, associations, foundations or legal persons. The Publishing House of the Romanian Academy has an Administration Board, constituted of 5 members representing the managing team, and an Editorial Scientific Board having 11 members (a vice-president of the Romanian Academy who is the president of the scientific Council, 14 representatives of the Romanian Academy sections and 4 representatives of the Publishing House board. The activity of the Publishing House involves three sectors: editorial, technical, economic and commercial. The editorial sector coordinated by the editor-in-chief and by the deputy editors-in-chief includes editors for all the thematic fields corresponding to the 14 scientific sections of the Romanian Academy, foreign language editors, an editorial secretary office, a storehouse for the proof copies and the free copies, and a library. A special editorial team is in charge with compiling and editing the materials for "The Yearbook" and for "The Annals of the Romanian Academy". The technical sector, coordinated by the technical deputy manager for production problems and by the chief of the computer department, provides activities of computer editing and correcting of the manuscripts, of monitoring and controlling of the production. The economic and commercial sector, coordinated by the economic deputy manager and by the chief accountant, carries out the financial-accounting activities, the economic management and administration tasks, the human resources activities, storing, marketing, distribution and selling of the editorial products. An important number of copies of the published journals and books are meant for the international exchange, carried out by the means of the Romanian Academy Library. The product distribution of the Publishing House of the Romanian Academy is done directly in the commercial storehouse at the headquarters of the Publishing House and through book and periodicals distributors (RODIPET, ORION PRESS, AMCO, The National Company of Libraries, SEDCOM-Libris Iasi, BIBLIOSTAR).
