About Journal
"Turkish Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences" (TrJFAS) is a refereed academic journal has been published by Central Fisheries Research Institute of Turkey and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and published biannually (April & November) in English. It aims to address research and needs of all working and studying within the many varied areas of fisheries and aquatic sciences. The Journal publishes English language original research papers, critical review articles, short communications and technical notes on applied or scientific research relevant to freshwater, brackish and marine environments.
Aims and Scope
The Turkish Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, the official academic refereed journal of the Central Fisheries Research Institute based in Trabzon, Turkey, is published biannually in April & November in English covering original research papers, short communications, technical notes and reviews on all aspects of fisheries and aquatic sciences.
The journal is multidisciplinary and welcomes papers reporting significant new knowledge and understanding of fisheries and aquatic sciences.

Instructions for Authors
The Turkish Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences publishes original articles dealing with all aspects of fisheries primarily in Turkey. Articles may be research papers, short reports, technical notes or invited reviews.
- Research papers must not exceed 25 manuscript pages including tables and figures.
- Short reports and technical notes, which are results of brief but significant work, must not exceed 10 manuscript pages including tables and figures.
- Invited reviews, which will be solicited by the Editorial Board, must not exceed 50 manuscript pages including tables and figures.
Articles must be written in English and present scientific results that have not been published nor submitted for publication elsewhere.
Submission of Manuscripts
The complete manuscript should contain full text, figures, tables and references. MS word document with file extension ".doc" or ".docx" is preferred.
The manuscript should be submitted to the journal via online submission system:

All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least two referees.
Page Charges and Reprints
No page charges are collected, and authors will receive one copy of the journal. Reprints must be ordered in advance on the reprint order form sent with the proofs.
Preparation of Manuscripts
Type the manuscript's text double-spaced throughout and with 25 mm margins, including References, Tables, Figure, on A4 paper format using a standard font (e.g. MS Word, Times New Roman, 12 pt). Number all pages consecutively, including Title page, Abstract, Full Text, References, Tables, Figure and Figures.
Organization
Organize your manuscript as follows:
1. Text
Page 1 (Title page)
· Title of manuscript
· Authors' full names, with an asterisk after the name of the corresponding author
· Authors' affiliations and postal addresses, including e-mail address of the corresponding author
· Number of pages
· Number of Tables
· Number of Figures
· Phone and fax numbers of corresponding author
Page 2 (Abstract with key words)
Abstract should not exceed 200 words in research papers, 300 words in reviews, and 100 words in short reports and technical notes.
Three to five key words (not found in the title) should be listed below the abstract.
Page 3 and followings (Text with tables and figures)
Text is usually divided into following sections: Introduction; Materials and Methods; Results; Discussion; Acknowledgements; References.
All references should be cited in the text; see below for details.
Tables and Figures should be cited in the text but they should follow the text; see below for details.
2. References
Cite references in the text as Author (year) or (Author, year).
If there are two authors in the references: Author and Author (year) or (Author and Author, year);
If there are more authors in the references: Author et al. (year) or (Author et al., year);
More than one reference in the same sentence: (Author, year; Author, year).
In the References, arrange papers alphabetically by the first author's family name.
References from the same author(s) in the same year should be identified by the letters "a", "b", "c", etc., placed after the year of publication.

3. Tables
Number tables consecutively in Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, ...), and type each table on a separate sheet. Title of the table should be written on top of the table. Descriptions about table items should be placed at the bottom of the table with an asterisk.
4. Figures
Number Figures consecutively in Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, ...), and type each Figure on a separate sheet. Title of the figure and descriptions about figure items should be written on bottom of the figure.
