Instructions to Authors

Guide for Authors

  1. Chinese Journal of Aeronautics (CJA) is a comprehensive academic journal dealing with the fields of aeronautics and astronautics. The Journal is sponsored by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics. It is a bimonthly journal in English, was founded in 1988, and at present, its issues are released in February, April, June, August, October, and December. The Journal reports the developments of the aeronautical and astronautical researches in China to promote the academic exchange and progress
  2. The intended readers of the Journal are specialized technical workers, teachers and students in colleges and universities and the related personnel of management, and they devote themselves to or are interested in the scientific research, teaching, design, experimentation, manufacture, or application in the industries of aeronautics and astronautics.
  3. The contents of the Journal include all the disciplinary fields involved in the sciences and technologies of aeronautics and astronautics.
  4. The Journal serves as a platform for such types of articles as theoretical academic articles, experimentation articles, research notes, comprehensive reviews, technological briefs, and other related reports on the latest developments.
  5. All contributed manuscripts are appraised by the Members of the Editorial Committee. Each article is reviewed by at least two referees. The acceptance of the manuscripts will be notified by the Editorial Office, whereas those rejected will be returned.
  6. The contributed manuscripts should reflect the latest developments of the aerospace discipline, with emphasis on academic novelty and thoughtfulness, as well as practicability, and the teaching material, working account, or technical account will be not preferred.
Attention should be paid to the content. The contributions should highlight the main points, i.e., the new achievements that should be described in the author's own words, with the dull narration and ordinary derivation reduced or deleted as much as possible. The same statements should not be repeated in Abstract, Introduction, and Conclusions.
The writing style should be simple and straightforward, the data should be reliable, and any undue self-appraisal must be abandoned. Manuscripts of low quality, of poor eligibility, or with long tedious quotations will be directly returned by the Editorial Office, without being forwarded to the Editorial Committee for further review.
  7. Authors both in China and abroad are welcome to freely submit their manuscripts articles to our Journal. A declaration must be made in advance if the contribution contains any part of the arguments already published in open publications in order to avoid misunderstanding. One manuscript (including the case of slight revision) should not be submitted to two Journals. Strict examination and investigation will be exerted in case that one paper is classified into several ones with the same central idea.
  8. Any comment and divergence from readers concerning the published papers of different kinds in the Journal will be dealt with seriously. The Editorial Office will make arrangements for its reappraisal, and an open academic discussion will be held. The Laws of Copyright are strictly observed and implemented, and the citation of other articles must be included with their source mentioned in References.
  9. According to the related regulations, each contributed manuscript is charged an examination fee (150 RMB for one manuscript, accompanying the submission of the manuscript), and each standard page of published article is charged 200 RMB?with an extra charge of 10 RMB for each figure (if the figure is composed of three sub-figures, it is treated as three figures) for tracing and plate making. Please consider this cost when submitting the manuscripts, and those who cannot afford the expenses should make it clear in advance. Privileges of the above expenses will be offered to those manuscripts highly appraised by referees after examination. Five offprints and one Journal will be supplied to the authors after publication.
  10. Three copies of the manuscript should be mailed to the submission address:
the Editorial Office of Chinese Journal of Aeronautics
    37 Xueyuan Road
    Beijing, Post Code 100083.
The author should fill the submission form of CJA (can be downloaded from CJA homepage) before submission. The form should contain details of the author's true name, position, affiliation, detailed address, telephone number, and E-mail address, and whether supported by the National Natural Science Foundation or others, whether awarded or not, and so on.
