About the journal
Applied Rheology covers the science of the deformation and flow of soft matter, with special interest in experimental and computational advances in the characterization and understanding of complex fluids, including their nonequilibrium dynamic and structural behaviors. The journal offers insight into both phenomenological and molecular theories, instrumentation, the study of diverse materials (such as polymers, rubber, paint, glass, foods, biological materials) and a wide range of practical applications.
We are inviting the contribution of manuscripts that present new techniques or give an overview of existing experimental, computational or theoretical methods in the field of applied rheology. The contributions should be at a review level with a strong tie to present or future applications as well as understandable to the non-researcher. Applied Rheology also serves as the newsletter for several rheological societies worldwide.
Instructions to Authors
Applied Rheology does not charge authors and provides free electronic reprint. Appl Rheol maintains a manuscript status system and referee server for fast communication.
PLEASE READ: How to prepare a successful manuscript ►
In view of the increased rate of papers submitted to AR and our desire to maintain or improve the quality of published articles, we must unfortunately reject all manuscripts not meeting the criteria discussed above. If your manuscript falls into any of the following categories, it will be rejected without consideration.
The editors will reject the following manuscripts:
- Pure case studies and laboratory reportas - Subsequent work, as part of a series (Paper Part I, II, etc.) - Manuscripts in which the number of tables exceeds 50% of the number of figures - Manuscripts in which the tables display the same information as the figures - Manuscripts in which duplicate figures exist, which simply re-plot the same data in different manner - Manuscripts in which textbook knowledge is extensively repeated (in particlar mathematical derivations)
We accept the following document types
- Review article
- Regular article
- Book review
- Conference report
- News from the market
- Thesis summary
- Contribution for Society's Site
- Letter to the editor
Your electronic submission must contain a pdf or postscript file of the whole manuscript. Final submissions need an electronic text document incl. figure captions, separate high resolution figures [eps, jpg, tiff].
We provide sample (printed) papers ► Please do not try to reproduce the layout when typesetting your manuscript.
Manuscripts and all other contributions for Appl Rheol should be submitted either
- by using our web interface (preferred) ►
- or by email to editors@appliedrheology.org ►
- or by providing a local webaddress where we can download the manuscript.
- or by postal mail, all files on CD.
