About the journal
Trends in Cell Biology is the leading monthly review journal in molecular and cell biology (Impact Factor 18.1; SCI Journals Citation Reports 2001). Reviews published each month monitor the breath and depth of current research in cell biology, reporting on new developments as they happen and integrating methods, disciplines and principles. All articles are commissioned from leading scientists and then subjected to stringent peer-review, ensuring balance and accuracy. Review articles published in Trends in Cell Biology are lively and extensively illustrated.
In addition to Reviews, Trends in Cell Biology publishes Opinion and Research Focus articles. Opinion articles follow trends and innovative ideas whilst the Update section is designed to highlight recent advances in a particular research field providing insight on the implications of the new developments as well as future perspectives and directions. Letters of interest to readers are also published. Articles are usually invited; however, if you are interested in submitting a manuscript please send a one page summary of your proposed article to the editor
Instructions to Authors
Trends in Cell Biology is now review only, and is divided into three main sections: Update, Opinion and Review. Articles for Trends in Cell Biology are generally commissioned by the Editor, but proposals for articles are welcome, especially for the Update section. Prospective authors should send a brief summary of around 200 words, citing key references, to the Editor, who will supply guidelines on manuscript preparation if the proposal is accepted. The submission of completed manuscripts without prior consultation with the Editor is strongly discouraged. Authors should note that all major articles in Trends in Cell Biology are peer-reviewed, and commissioning does not guarantee publication.
