About the journal

Statistica Neerlandica publishes research and expository material about new developments in probability, statistics and operations research, and their applications in medical, agricultural, econometric, physical or social sciences and industry, commerce and government. The emphasis is on clarity, accessibility for the general reader, and applicability. In particular, Statistica Neerlandica shows how, for certain practical problems, statistics or operations research can play a valuable role in decision making

2. The first page of the manuscript should contain the following information:

(i) title; author(s); institutional affiliations(s) and (postal) address(es); email;
(ii) an abstract of no more than 150 words;
(iii) keywords and phrases in accordance with the format in the Current Index to Statistics. This implies that overlap of key words with the title should be avoided;
(iv) acknowledgements, if any;
(v) a running head (short title).

3. Important formulae should be numbered consecutively throughout the manuscript as (1), (2), etc. , on the right-hand side of the page. Please avoid numbering formulae which are not referred to in the text.

4. Footnotes must be avoided.

"this has been discussed in the literature (see for instance, RAO, 1973, p. 102)".

At the end of the manuscript, complete references should be listed alphabetically as follows:

For periodicals:

For monographs:

Note that journal titles should not be abbreviated; and that the initial(s) of second (and following) author(s) is (are) prior to the name.

6. Tables and figures (charts and diagrams should be referred to as figures) should bear a title and should be numbered consecutively in the text.

7. Any manuscript which does not conform to the above instructions may be returned for any necessary revisions before publication. Galley-proofs will be sent to the corresponding author.

8. One copy of the journal and 25 reprints are supplied free to the corresponding author.

Four copies of papers submitted for publication should be sent to the editor:
