About the journal
The Rivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia was founded in 1895. It publishes original papers dealing with all fields of paleontology and micropaleontology, stratigraphy, biostratigraphy and sedimentology, mostly from the Italian and Mediterranean region, but also from other Tethyan areas, like for example Central Asia and Himalaya.
All papers are written in English since 1994 and are reviewed by international experts.
The journal is currently indexed and abstracted by AGI, ISI, Current Contents, Georef, Geological Abstract and SciSearch.
The Rivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia is published in three issues (one volume) each year in A4 format
Instructions to Authors
The Rivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia publishes original contributions on all aspects of palaeontology and stratigraphy.
Submission of a manuscript implies that the article is original, unpublished and not submitted for publication elsewhere.
The language must be English, either American or British English is accepted but consistency in spelling is required throughout the manuscript.
Acceptance for publication is subject to the approval of the Editorial Board.
Guidelines
Acceptance for publication is subject to the approval of the Editorial Board. The text should not exceed 50 A4 (21 x 29.5 cm) double spaced pages.
More extended papers may be exceptionally accepted but the editor must be consulted ."Short Notes" (5-8 pp.) may also be published in a separate section.
Institutional address of author(s) must be reported along with telephone, fax and e-mail address in the accompanying letter; in case of joint-authored papers should be reported the phone and e-mail address of the corresponding author.
The first 20 printed pages are free of charge. For additional pages a contribution for each printed page (independently from the number of figures and or plates contained) is usually requested.
Submission in electronic format is preferred and encouraged. The whole paper should be submitted in .pdf format; additionally is requested to submit the text only in .doc or .rtx.
The format and program used must be for PC and not for Macintosh. All files sent as Mac files will be sent back unprocessed to the author(s) for conversion. Drawings and photos may be sent as .tiff or .jpg files with the highest possible resolution (possibly 600 dpi).
