Optica Applicata is an international journal, published in a non-periodical form in years 1971-1973 and quarterly since 1973. It is abstracted and indexed in: ASCA, Cadscan, Chemical Abstracts, Chemical Industry Notes, Chemical Titles, Current Contents, Engineering Index Monthly, INSPEC, Lead Abstracts (Leadscan), Zinscan.

Review of matter

Diffraction theory and its application, quantum optics, problems in radiation coherence, light sources, holography and its application, scientific photography, methods of image reconstruction, optical application of Fourier transform, theory of optical system, criteria of optical image evaluation, optical materials, technology of manufacturing optical elements, aspheric optics, optical properties of solids and thin films, lasers and their applications, photo- and radiometry, problems in spectroscopy, nonlinear optics, optical data processing, optical measurement, fiber optics, optical instrumentation, interferometry, microscopy, non-visible optics, optical computing, optoelectronics, colorimetry, light detectors, ellipsometry and photoelasticity, optical modulation, light and electron beams, biooptics, optometry.

The Editorial Board invites the readers to send over any remarks and observations referring to the publications which appear in Optica Applicata. The correspondence of essential importance will be published in a separate column dealing with Letters to Editor.

Instructions to Authors

  1. Papers will be considered for publication in Optica Applicata if they have not been previously published elsewhere. They should deal with original research in applied optics and may contain experimental as well as theoretical results. All papers will be a subject of refereeing.
  2. Manuscripts should be typed in double spacing on one side of the page only. Printed manuscripts should be sent in duplicate to the Editorial Office. We also accept electronic submission, preferably in Word, txt or rtf format.
  3. The mathematical formulae should be typed and care should be taken that the symbols easily confusing (e.g., superscripts and subscripts) are very clearly distinguished. Formulae should be numbered on the right-hand side in round parentheses.
  4. Each paper should be preceded by an abstract of no more than 100 words. It must include the scope of the research and principal findings.
  5. All illustrations, drawings and photographs should be submitted on separate sheets. Electronic submission as bmp or tiff format with minimum resolution of 300 dpi is preferred. Arial or Helvetica fonts type should be used (bold and italic are avoided). All ilustrations, including photographs, must have the figure number, the author's name and the title of the article. Figure captions should be listed on a separate sheet at the end of the manuscript.
  6. Tables should also be submitted on the separate sheets, numbered in Arabic numerals, and referred to the text. The size of a table must not be larger than A3.
  7. References should be numbered consecutively as they are cited in the text and listed after text. In the list of references, the following information should be given:
    1. author's name and initials,
    2. the title of the journal,
    3. journal volume, year of issue, and the first page
    4. if a book is cited: the publishing house, place, and year of issue.
  8. The authors receive one copy of the manuscript (with changes suggested by the Editor) for his acceptance and this copy sent back to the Editor will be the basis for all the proof-reading made by the editorial staff. The Editors reserve themselves the right charge the author for the alterations in the proof other than the correction of printer's errors.
  9. The authors of each article will receive 25 reprints of his paper free of charge.
  10. The author(s) of the paper(s) submitted to publication and published in Optica Applicata agree to exclusive transfer of the due copyright to the publisher.
