Nonlinear Analysis Series B: Real World

Nonlinear Analysis Series B: Real World Applications is published in cooperation with IFNA (which was founded in August 1991) to promote collaboration in the world community of nonlinear analysis from various disciplines. Nonlinear Analysis Series B: Real World Applications welcomes all experimental, computational and/or applied advances in nonlinear phenomena, in any discipline - especially those that further our ability to analyze and solve the nonlinear problems that confront our real world. The goal is to bring together such diverse disciplines as: Aerospace Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences, Biological Sciences, Cosmological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Economics, Engineering and Technological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Geophysical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences, Numerical and Computational Sciences, Oceanographic Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences. Nonlinear Analysis Series B: Real World Applications will feature applied papers which demonstrate multidisciplinary interaction, preferably those which are presented such that other nonlinear analysts can at least grasp the main results, techniques, and their potential applications. Aside from survey papers of an expository nature, contributions will be original research papers demonstrating the relevance and applicability of nonlinear techniques.
Instructions to Authors
The Editor will be pleased to receive contributions from all parts of the world. Manuscripts for publication should be in English and submitted to either the Editor or to the member of the Board of Associate Editors who, in the opinion of the author, is most closely concerned with the topic of the paper.
Web Submission Site: Authors are encouraged to submit their papers electronically by using online manuscript submission at http://www.elsubmit.com/esubmit/nonrwa. Authors interested in online submission are requested to go to the website and upload their manuscript and its associated artwork. An electronic (PDF) proof is generated and the reviewing process is carried out using that PDF. It is crucial that all graphical and tabular elements be placed within the text, so that the PDF is suitable for reviewing. This will also allow the preferred position of placement to be indicated; however please note that due to journal conventions, it may not be possible to meet all requirements for placement of artwork. Moreover, the PDF file may be edited after acceptance to follow journal standards. Authors and editors send and receive all correspondence by email via the website and no paper correspondence is performed.
Only papers not previously published will be accepted, and authors must agree not to publish elsewhere a paper submitted to and accepted by the Journal.
The original manuscript and diagrams will be discarded one month after publication unless the Publisher is requested to return original material to the author.
Reprint copies can be purchased on a reprint order form which will accompany page proofs.
Manuscripts should be typed double spaced on one side of the page only with wide margins and submitted in triplicate. While no maximum length of contributions is prescribed, authors are encouraged to write concisely. The title should be brief. The author's name should be typed on the line below the title. The affiliation and address should follow on the next line. In the case of co-authors, respective addresses should be clearly indicated, as well as which author is to receive correspondence and proofs for correction. The body of the manuscript should be preceded by keywords. No abstract is required.
Mathematical symbols may be either handwritten or typewritten, but no ambiguities should arise. Greek letters and unusual symbols should be identified in the margin. Distinction should be made between capital and lower case letters; between the letter O and zero; between the letter l, the number one and prime; between k and kappa. A vector will be printed bold face and to indicate this the letter should be underscored with a single wavy line. The numbers identifying displayed mathematical expressions should be placed in parentheses on the right-hand side of the page.
Illustrations should accompany the script and should not be included in manuscript pages. Line drawings should include all relevant details and should be drawn in black ink on plain white drawing paper or tracing cloth suitable for direct reproduction. Drawings, etc., should be about twice the final size required and lettering must be clear and "open", and sufficiently large to permit the necessary reduction in size.
Photographs should be sent as glossy prints. Good photoprints are acceptable, but blueprints or dye-line prints cannot be used.
Figure legends should be typed on a separate sheet and placed at the end of the manuscript.
Tables should be numbered consecutively and, in order to save space, they should not repeat data which are available elsewhere in the paper, e.g. in a line diagram.
References to published literature should be quoted in the text in square brackets and grouped together at the end of the paper in numerical order of appearance. Abbreviations of journal citations should conform to the style used in the 4th edition of World List of Scientific Periodicals. Double spacing must be used.
Journal references should be arranged thus: 1. KNOWLES J.K. & REISSNER E., Note on the stress-strain relations for thin elastic shells, J. Math. Phys. 37, 269 (1958).
Book references should be given as follows: 2. CARSLAW H.S. & JAEGER J.C., Operational Methods in Applied Mathematics, 2nd edition. Oxford University Press, Oxford (1953).
Because of the international character of the Journal, no rigid rules concerning notation or abbreviation need be observed by the authors but each paper should be self-consistent as to symbols and units, which should be properly defined.
