1. Category of Papers
(1) Regular Article: (The page limit is 10 printed pages)
· Papers should have original content which reports the experimental and technological results of the metals and the related materials.
It is required that the scientific or the technical quality and theory are included sufficiently.
· Papers based on published Japanese papers will be accepted as long as they are submitted within one year of the publication of the Japanese paper, and a footnote should be added to identify the original Japanese paper.
(2) Express Regular Article: (The page limit is 10 printed pages)
· Papers that satisfy the conditions for a Regular Article can be published as an Express Regular Article, when the authors want express publication and are prepared to pay an additional fee of 10,000 yen for the express procedure.
(3) Rapid Publication: (The page limit is 4 printed pages)
· Short papers suitable for the rapid publications, such as with novel and significant research results, new knowledge and ideas or proposals on technological developments are in this category.
· Papers should have original content.
(4) Express Rapid Publication: (The page limit is 3 printed pages)
· Papers that satisfy the conditions for a Rapid Publication can be published as an Express Rapid Publication, when the authors want express publication and are prepared to pay a special fee for express rapid publication.

Superscript, subscript, Greek letters, italics, bold letters and so on, should be designated only in the original manuscript used for printing by red ink.(In copies of the manuscript, these letters are not needed, to prevent inconvenience in the reviewing process.

Examples: Greek letters: enclosed by circle
Italic letters: underlined by
Bold italic letters: underlined by
Gothic letters: underlined by
Superscript and subscript of numerical equations 10, Cr
Others: Greek letters similar to Roman letters and capital letters difficult to distinguish from small letters should be specially designated.

(2) Letters representing numeral values (quantity symbols) should be designated regardless of whether they are constants or variables, since they are printed in italic letters. Mathematical symbols are designated by Roman letters.

Examples: quantity symbols:
length; l, area; A, S, volume; V, v, pressure; P, force; F, time; t, vector; A, a,

general logarithms; log x
sine; sin
cosine; cos
