Sci. Ed. publishes reviews, full-length papers, and short communications presenting original research in materials science and engineering. The focus is on functional and structural materials, advanced technology for materials synthesis and processing, nanomaterials, composites, and computational material science. All published papers are subjected to peer review, and edited to conform to related international standards. The Journal won the first prize awarded by the Chinese Ministry of Education, ranking it first among all English-version technical journals published in China. The Journal was founded in 1986, ISSN 1000-2413; ISSN electronic edition 1993-0437; CN 42-1680/TB;Coden JWUTE8 The Journal publishes reviews, full-length papers, and short communications presenting original research in materials science and engineering, focusing on functional and structural materials, advanced technology for materials synthesis and processing, nanomaterials, composites, computational material science, etc. All papers published are subjected to peer review, and are edited to conform to related international standards. The Journal is listed or abstracted in SCI (one of 67 periodicals in China indexed by the SCI, in EI (it is one of 133 periodicals in China abstracted by EI ), CA (USA), AJ (Russia), and JICST (Japan - it is one of 26 periodicals in China indexed by JICST).In 2004, the Journal won the first prize awarded by the Chinese Ministry of Education, ranking it first among all English-version technical journals published in China. In 2006,the Journal won the ”Best Quality Periodicals” prize awarded by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The Journal is distributed in China, USA, UK, the EU, Russia and other countries. Beginning in January 1, 2007, it is jointly published by Springer, one of the world’s largest specialist publishers in science, technology and medicine. Springer will also handle overseas distribution of the Journal. Manuscripts submitted are considered only on the condition that their contents have never been published elsewhere. The Journal of Wuhan University of Technology-Materials Science Edition owns the copyright of published papers. The manuscript, typed with double spacing, should include the title, author name(s) and author’s affiliation, including the professional title, department, institution, e-mail and mailing address, and telephone number, abstract and key words(3-8 words or phrases). The manuscripts usually consist of Introduction, Experimental, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgement, References, figures and tables and their captions. All sections should carry headings numbered with Arabic numerals (such as 1 Introduction, 2 Experimental, 3 Results and Discussion, etc),and subsection should be identified with section and subsection numbers(such as 2.1 Raw materials) Abstract should outline the objective, method, main results and conclusion, no more than 300 words, and be a complete statement in itself. Mathematical notation and equations should be typewritten wherever possible. Equations should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals in parentheses placed flush right, and should be thusly referred in the text. Illustrations (photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts) and tables are to be numbered in one consecutive series of Arabic numerals, respectively. All illustrations must be complete and final. Standard international units (SI) must be used. For example, kg/m3, mol/L (not M or N), ×10-6 (not ppm), etc. Abbreviations should also be spelled out in full on the first appearance. References are listed numerically at the end of the paper.Use the appropriate Arabic numerals in square brackets on the baseline for citation in the text.
