About the journal
Journal of the Chemical Society of Pakistan was launched in 1978. This journal covers different research areas in the field of chemistry, these include; Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry.
The first editors by Chemical Society of Pakistan were Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman and Prof. Z. H. Zaidi. From 1995, Prof. Dr. Viqar Uddin Ahmad was appointed as an Editor, as Prof. Zaidi left the Editorship due to his other assignment.
The Chemical Society of Pakistan in its current meeting approved Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman (FRS, N.I., H.I., S.I., T.I.) as Editor-in-Chief and Prof. Dr. Viqar Uddin Ahmad H.I., S.I., as Editor of the Journal.
The chemical society of Pakistan authorized Prof. Dr. Viqar Uddin Ahmad (H.I., S.I.), to appoint six associate editors in different disciplines.
Instructions to Authors
Manuscript Organization:
- Short running title: not more than five words.
- Affiliation of all contributors.
- Corresponding author's fax & phone numbers with e-mail address. (e-mail address will help us for fast correspondence to the authors).
- Summary: not more than 250 words.
- The manuscript should include in sequence, Summary, Introduction, Results and Discussion, Experimental, Conclusion/ Acknowledgements (if applicable) and References, Tables and Figures (each on separate sheet). Figures, and Tables must not be placed in the main text of the manuscript.
- Authors should only use abbreviations sparingly and should always define an abbreviation when first used by placing it in parenthesis after the full term, eg., nuclear Overhuser effect (NOE), Butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), Heteronuclear multiple bond coherence (HMBC).
- The metric system for all measurements should be expressed in lower case letters without periods (ml, nm, min etc).
- Structures: CS Chem Draw (version 5.0 or later) will be used for the illustration of chemical structures. Drawing Setting: chain angle 120, bond spacing 18 % of length, fixed length 0.25 in, bold with 0.0347 in, line width 0.0111 in, margin width 0.0278 in, hash spacing 0.0417 in, font Arial and 10 in size.
Text Specifications:
- MS word (office 2000 or later).
- Print: on Laser (not dot matrix) printer.
- Spacing: double.
- Margins: 2.5 cm (all four sides).
- Font style: Times New Roman.
- Font size: 10 for normal text; 10 (bold) for headings and 12 (bold) for title of the manuscript. Page size: A4

Proofs:
Authors are sent page proofs. To avoid delays in publication, proofs should be checked immediately for typographical errors and returned within 48 hours. Major changes are not acceptable at the proof stage. However if such changes are necessary, then a small charge may be made by the publishers.
Reprints:
25 reprints free of cost will be provided for each paper. Extra reprints with or without covers may be ordered before the publication of journal.
