About the journal

The JOURNAL OF GROUP THEORY is devoted to the publication of original research articles in all aspects of group theory. Articles concerning applications of group theory and articles from research areas which have a significant impact on group theory will also be considered.
Covered by Current Mathematical Publications, Mathematical Reviews, MathSciNet, CD-ROM MathSciDisk; Zentralblatt für Mathematik/Mathematics Abstracts, database MATH via STN, CD-ROM CompactMATH. Indexed in Current Contents / PC & ES, and CompuMath Citation Index.
Instructions to Authors
Instructions for Authors - Journal of Group Theory
Manuscripts may be submitted to any member of the Editorial Board. Authors are asked to include two copies of the manuscript. The first page should contain only the title of the paper, authors' names and addresses, with e-mail addresses if possible, and a suggested running title of less than 70 characters. Manuscripts prepared in any version of TEX are welcome. Otherwise, they should be typewritten, with double spacing, on one side of the page only, with generous margins.
Articles in TEX. Please do not submit files for manuscripts until requested to do so. However, when papers are accepted, source files will be needed. Please keep formatting macros to a minimum, to make conversion of files more accurate. Do not worry about chapter headings, running titles, bad page breaks, etc. and avoid adding extra space and using glue to improve the appearance of the manuscript. Please ensure that the material has been carefully proof-read and that the disks contain all input and style files used.
Figures or Graphics. Figures should be of professional quality, including all labelling, and should be provided in the form of glossy prints or Indian ink drawings. All essential details (labelling) must be legible after a reduction of at least 50%. Figures should be submitted on separate sheets and numbered consecutively. Figures created via a graphics package should be saved in encapsulated PostScript (EPS) format. A separate file for each graphic should be submitted. In a TEX document EPS files may be incorporated into the TEX file by using one of the standard macro packages, such as epsf.tex (epsf.sty) or psfig.tex. Include paper copies of all the PostScript files for the graphics.
Tables. Tables should be numbered (with Roman numerals) and referred to by number in the text. Each table (with caption) should appear on a separate page of the manuscript.
Footnotes. Footnotes should be kept to a minimum and be as brief as possible. They should be numbered consecutively and placed at the foot of the page to which they refer.
References. References should be collected at the end of the paper and numbered in alphabetical order of the authors' names. Titles of journals should be abbreviated as in Mathematical Reviews. The following examples show the preferred style for references to a book, a paper in a journal, a paper in a proceedings volume, and an unpublished dissertation.

Authors should notify the Journal of Group Theory of any changes of address while their paper is under consideration. The e-mail address for the Journal of Group Theory is:jgrouptheory@bham.ac.uk
In all other matters arising before the acceptance of papers, authors are requested to communicate directly with the appropriate editor.
Authors will receive two sets of page proofs for correction. Joint authors should indicate on the original manuscript which of them should receive the page proofs. Only typographical errors should be corrected in the proofs. If excessive alterations to the original manuscript are requested after the paper has been typeset, the authors will be charged for the cost of resetting.
Fifty offprints of each article will be supplied free of charge. Additional offprints may be ordered when the proofs are returned.
