About the journal
Published four times a year, the Journal for Computer Information Systems (JCIS) is the forum for International Association of Computer Information Systems members and other information systems and business professionals to present their research and ideas. Each issue provides a wealth of timely and informative articles, as well as research summaries, software reviews, new products announcements, and thought provoking editorial comments.
The editors of JCIS welcome your interest in The Journal and look forward to serving you in anyway possible. JCIS is a Professional Member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, AACSB. The Board of Directors of the International Association for Computer Information Systems extends its appreciation to the College of Business, Oklahoma State University, for its generous support of The Journal.
Instructions to Authors
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
The Journal for Computer Information Systems is the official publication of the International Association for Computer Information Systems published on a quarterly basis. The Journal is a refereed publication containing articles related to information systems research including innovative and advanced technologies. Listed below are the guidelines that must be followed when submitting a manuscript to be reviewed for publication in The Journal.
- Manuscripts must be word processed and electronically submitted as a Word document attached to an e-mail to either Editor-in-Chief Jeretta Horn Nord, e-mail: jnord@okstate.edu or to Associate Editor Binshan Lin, e-mail blin@pilot.lsus.edu. Hard copy submissions will not be accepted.
- Articles should be approximately 20-25 pages.
- All manuscripts should be formatted as double-spaced, in a 12 point font with one-inch margins.
- The first page of the manuscript should contain only the following information: title, name and institutional affiliation of the author(s), address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address. An asterisk should be placed next to the name of the corresponding author.
- The second page should contain the title, an abstract of not more than 150 words, a set of key words to serve as indicators on the paper's contents, and the beginning of the article. Do not include the author(s) name on this page.
- Center primary headings in all caps. Place secondary headings at the left margin.
- Tables and figures must be prepared and captioned exactly as they are to appear in The Journal and numbered consecutively in the text.
- References must be complete and listed alphabetically at the end of the text according to the first author's last name. Each reference should be preceded by a number enclosed in square brackets. Citations in the text, referring to this list, should be made as numbers in square brackets, e.g., [10].
Journal references must follow the format: [1] Author's last name, intitials. "title," journal name (italicized) volume: issue (enclosed in parentheses), year, page number(s).
Book references must follow the format: [1] Author's last name, initials. book title (italicized), publisher, city, state, year, page numbers(s).
Conference procedings must follow the format: [1] Author's last name, initials. "title," name of proceedings, conference city, state: conference date, page number(s).
Note: Manuscripts are reviewed by the editor or editor-in-chief. Those suitable for futher review are forwarded to the associate editor and then to members of the review board. This process takes approximately twelve to sixteen weeks. Contributors of articles accepted for publication will receive a complimentary copy of the issue in which their article appears.
