The Journal of Clinical Densitometry publishes the latest clinical research on the uses of bone mass and density measurements in medical practice, as well as state-of-the-art review articles on critical topics. In addition, JCD offers physicians and their medical technicians reports on accepted and emerging technologies, product reviews, practice management advice, and technical guidance for effective operation of densitometry machines, thus helping to ensure a high level of quality assurance as well as a thorough understanding of the cost and the benefits associated with various technologies. Combining high quality research and review articles with sound, practice-oriented advice, JCD meets the diverse diagnostic and management needs of a readership whose osteoporotic patients require diagnostic clinical densitometry for therapeutic management.

Instructions to Authors
Submission
- Submit manuscripts prepared as outlined below to the Editor-in-Chief
Manuscripts
- One original plus three copies of all manuscripts should be mailed to the Editor
- Authors may identify potential reviewers
- Faxes of manuscripts will not be accepted
- All human and animal experiments must be approved by an institutional review committee at the institution from which the study is submitted
- Type manuscript in English, giving full first and last names and full affiliations for all authors
- Provide address and phone, fax, and E-mail numbers for the corresponding author
- Type manuscript double-spaced on one side of consecutively numbered pages with 1- to 11/2-in. margins
- Subdivide manuscripts into the following sequence of sections: Title page, Abstract and Key words, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Figures, Acknowledgments, and References
- All manuscripts will be blinded
- Please submit a cover page without the author's names and affiliations
- Provide a running title of not more than 40 characters
- Include all figures and tables
Computer Disks Once your manuscript has been accepted, be sure to include an electronic version in a Macintosh format, preferably in a Microsoft Word document. PC-prepared disks are also acceptable. Manuscripts and electronic versions must match. Revised electronic versions cannot be submitted without a corresponding reprinted manuscript.

- Please include; manuscripts cannot be published without author's signed and dated form
Abstracts
- Abstracts should be a single paragraph of 100¨C200 words
- Abbreviations and reference citations should be avoided
Index Entries
- Include 3¨C6 index entries/key words
Artwork
- Number figures consecutively with Arabic numerals, callouts (if any) should be cap letters
- All figures must be cited in text; figures will be placed as close as possible to the first text citation
- Include figure captions on a separate, numbered manuscript sheet
- Define all symbols and abbreviations used in the figure
- All illustrations, including chemical structures, must be provided in professional-quality, finished form ready for direct reproduction without revision by us
- Color art cannot be accepted unless the author is willing to assume the additional production costs involved; quotes given on request
- Photographs should be glossy prints of high quality and with strong contrasts to withstand some reduction
- Please indicate the magnification by a rule on the photograph
- Only figures will be returned in the case of rejected manuscripts
Tables Type on separate pages. Number consecutively with Arabic numerals in order of mention in the text. Provide titles for all tables. Footnotes to tables indicated by lower case letters are acceptable, but they should not include extensive experimental detail.
Acknowledgments
- These should be included at the end of text; personal acknowledgments should precede those of institutions or agencies
References
- Cite in the text by italic Arabic numerals in parentheses, set on the text line
- List at the end of the paper in consecutive order
- Manuscripts in preparation or submitted, but not yet accepted, may be cited in the text, but should not be included in the list of references
- Please list all authors when there are six or fewer; when seven or more, list only the first three and add "et al."
