About the journal
Iranian Polymer Journal -English Edition
The publication of the Iranian Polymer Journal (former title: Iranian Journal of Polymer Science and Technology) started from January 1992 as an international publication.
This publication was issued on a regular biannual basis and continued for 3 years and from January 1994 it has been issued on a quarterly basis and then it has been publishing bimonthly since January 2001.
The IPJ is a publication of the Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute's scientific achievements. It is well received in international academic circles. The journal is widely distributed abroad and is usually available in the departments of polymer science, chemistry and chemical engineering at universities, in libraries, and in the research centers of more than forty countries in Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and America. The submission of articles from worldwide sources is a promising sign that the IPJ, within its short life, has gained international recognition. Moreover, the abstracts of its articles are cross-referenced in specialized national and international publications, such as:
Cambridge Scientific Abstracts: EMA and PCCA; Chemical Abstracts; Chemistry Citation Index; CPI Digest; DKI (German Plastics Institute) Database; Engineering Index; Institute for Scientific Information, ISI(Chemistry Citation Index/Materials Science Citation Index, Research Alert, SciSearch); Irandoc.; RAPRA Information services.

Authors will receive an immediate acknowledgement of receipt of their paper and subsequently notification of acceptance or rejection according to the referees' recommendations and the Editorial Board's assessment. Submission of inadequately prepared typed scripts will cause delay. Authors should therefore conform closely to the instructions given below.
Type of Manuscripts: The editorial board desires to receive manuscripts based on original research dealing with chemistry, physics and technology of various aspects of polymer synthesis, analysis, characterization, properties and applications.
Organization of Manuscripts: Submit manuscripts in triplicate (1 original and two copies) typed double-spaced throughout (including footnotes, left hand references, table legends) on standard A4 paper, leaving 1.5 cm each margin and 4 cm top and 3 cm from the bottom of the page. The length of the whole paper beyond about 10 pages size of the journal is seriously discouraged. The font for the text should be in Times New Roman 11, normal.
Introductory Material: The front page of the manuscripts should contain the following items in the sequence given:
(a) The title of the paper with as many meaningful terms as possible but limited to about 10 words.
(b) The authors' names (including one forename of each author spelled in full) and institutions including postal address in full.
(c) The author to whom correspondence should be sent including a fax number, and e.mail address where possible.
Abstract: The abstract should summarize the whole paper, not the conclusion alone. Its length should not exceed 200 words, and to highlight the purpose, the methods used, the results obtained and conclusions, with the results comprizing at least 50% of the abstract. Persian speaking authors are requested to submit the abstract in Persian as well.
Key Words: Five key words, expressing the precise content of the manuscript to be provided below the ABSTRACT.
Division of Text: Manuscripts should be divided into sections such as introduction, experimental, results and discussion, conclusion, references and symbols & abbreviations.
References: Journal and book references should be identified in the text by enclosing in squared brackets and should be numbered in order of their citations. Literature references should be listed at the end of manuscript, using the following style:
Journal articles: Mehdipour-Ataie S., "Novel thermally stable arlyene sulphone ether poly(amide-imide)", Iran. Polym. J., 11, 4, 251-256 (2002).
Books: Pecosky D.A. and Robinson J.R., "Bioadhesive polymers and drug delivery", in Polymers for Controlled Drug Delivery, Tarcha P.J., Ed., CRC, Florida, 99 (1991).
Unpublished works: Unpublished papers submitted to another journal may be cited with the journal's name followed by "in press".
Please give the full title of the paper(s) before the name of the journal(s) or the book(s) cited in your REFERENCES
In all other cases references may be made to "unpublished work" or "personal communications".
Tables: Every table must be referred to in the text and the tables to be numbered in sequential order in which they occur.
Type them on extra pages at the end of the manuscript. In the text, mark the position for a table in the margin. As for the table itself, it must be written so that it can be read and understood without reference to the text. Every column and every line of a table must be labelled unambiguously and units indicated wherever data are reported.
Figures: Figures will be printed in black and white unless special circumstances demand the use of colour. Figures must be referred to in the text and numbered in the sequence in which they are cited.
Figures to be produced in 8.5 or 18 cm width included with the margins, in Microsoft Excel or JPEG, BMP, TIF formats, with minimum resolution of 300 DPI. Particular care should be taken to ensure that figures reporting data are unambiguously labeled with regard to units and provide adequate information about the conditions under which the data were obtained.
Disks: Please submit a disk with the manuscript. The file on disk should correspond exactly to the hard copy. The operating system and the word processor used should be specified clearly, and standard saved with Microsoft Word or Word Perfect.
Illustrations or chemical structures in electronic format may be supplied provided that the file format and the program used to produce them is clearly indicated and that a hard copy is also provided.
Quantities, Units, Abbreviations, Nomenclature: Use only SI quantities and units (SI: System Internationale d'Unites). If data are in non-SI units, put in parenthesis behind the corresponding data with SI units. Symbols and abbreviations used to represent variables, constants, quantities, properties, etc. must be defined in the text at their first occurrence. In addition, compile a list of all symbols and abbreviations at the end of the text under the heading "Symbols and Abbreviations".
The nomenclature should follow established rules wherever these are available. Information on conversion factors is available in many standard reference works.
Acknowledgements: Make acknowledgements of financial support, advice or other kinds of assistance at the end of the paper under the heading "acknowledgements".
The Editorial Board would be interested to receive a resume of the author(s).
