About the journal

Experiments in Fluids

Description
Experiments in Fluids examines the advancement, extension, and improvement of new techniques of flow measurement. The journal also publishes contributions that employ existing experimental techniques to gain an understanding of the underlying flow physics in the areas of turbulence, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, convective heat transfer, combustion, turbomachinery, multi-phase flows, and chemical, biological and geological flows. In addition, readers will find papers that report on investigations combining experimental and analytical/numerical approaches.

In addition to research articles, this journal publishes letters and review articles. Letters provide an opportunity to rapidly disseminate research results that are of timely interest. Reviews provide readers with comprehensive analysis of emerging topics of critical importance.

Impact Factor: 1.259 (2007)

Aquatic Sciences & Fisheries Abstracts, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), CSA/ASCE Civil Engineering Abstracts, INIS Atomindex, Inspec, Mechanical and Transportation Engineering Abstracts, Science Citation Index

Aims and scope
Experiments in Fluids publishes articles on the advancement of new techniques of flow measurement, as well as their extension and improvement. Equally, it publishes contributions that employ existing experimental techniques to gain an understanding of the underlying flow physics in the areas of turbulence, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, convective heat transfer, combustion, turbomachinery, multi-phase flows, and chemical, biological and geological flows. Papers that report investigations based on combinations of experimental and analytical/numerical approaches are also welcome, provided the experimental component is substantial.

In addition to Research Articles, Experiments in Fluids publishes Letters and Review Articles. Letters provide an opportunity to rapidly disseminate research results that are of timely interest to the experimental fluid mechanics community. Upon submission, Letter manuscripts should be accompanied by a brief justification for rapid publication. Letters should not exceed four journal pages. Review articles provide readers with comprehensive reviews of emerging topics or topics of critical importance and can be either solicited or non-solicited. Review articles appear on a regular basis.

Online Submission

Manuscript Submission
Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities ?tacitly or explicitly ?at the institute where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.

Permissions
Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their papers. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.

Online Submission
Authors should submit their manuscripts online. Electronic submission substantially reduces the editorial processing and reviewing times and shortens overall publication times. Please follow the hyperlink “Submit online?on the right and upload all of your manuscript files following the instructions given on the screen.
