Instructions for Authors
Aims and Scope. Drying Technology-An International Journal is a multidisciplinary, peer-refereed publication in the English language devoted to the science, technology, and engineering of drying, dewatering and allied subjects. Both fundamental and applied topics of industrial relevance in short or long term will be considered. Papers dealing with transport phenomena in porous media, heat and mass transfer in single or multiphase systems, topics in evaporation, solid/liquid separation, powder technology, agglomeration, gas-solid systems, etc., will be considered for publication if they are relevant to drying, dewatering, dehydration, or to operations preceding or following such processes. All contributions are reviewed prior to acceptance for publication. Only comprehensive articles of archival interest may be submitted for publication consideration. Authors must demonstrate familiarity with prior work in the subject area by appropriate citation of relevant work published in this journal. The Editor's decision regarding publication is final. Short technical communications are not normally considered for publication. Only original research and development contributions of archival interest may be submitted for review.
Submission of Manuscripts. Drying Technology receives all manuscript submissions electronically via their ScholarOne Manuscripts website located at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/LDRT. ScholarOne Manuscripts allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as facilitating the review process and internal communication between authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform. For ScholarOne Manuscripts technical support, you may contact them by e-mail or phone support via http://scholarone.com/services/support/ . If you have any other requests please contact the Editor-in-Chief at sakamon.dev@kmutt.ac.th.
References. Cite in the text by number only, enclosed in brackets. At the end of the manuscript, list the references in the order they appear in the text. Please do not abbreviate journal titles. Examples:
Journal: Tsami, E.; Katsioti, M. Drying kinetics for some fruits: Predicting of porosity and colour during dehydration. Drying Technology 2000, 18 (7), 1559-1581.
Book: Lachman, L.; Lieberman, H.A.; Kanig, J.L. The Theory and Practice of Industrial Pharmacy; Lea & Febiger; Philadelphia, 1974.
Contribution to a Book: Epstein, N.; Grace, J.R.; Spouting of particular solids. In Handbook of Powder Science and Technology; Fayed, M.E., Otten, L., Eds.; Van NostrandReinhold Co.: New York, 1997; 509-536.
Conference Proceedings: Lerici, C.R.; Dalla Rosa, M.; Pinnavia, G. Direct osmotic as pre-treatment to fruit drying. In Proceedings of European Conference on Food Chemistry, Rome, Italy, March 15-18, 1983; 287-296.
Illustrations. Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines: 300 dpi or higher, sized to fit on journal page, EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only, submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files.
Color Reproduction. Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Color art can be purchased for online only conversion and reproduction or for printþonline reproduction. Color reprints can only be ordered if printþonline reproduction costs are paid. Rates for color art reproduction are:
Online Only Reproduction: $225 for the first page of color; $100 per page for the next three pages of color. A maximum charge of $525 applies.
Print+Online Reproduction: $900 for the first page of color; $450 per page for the next three pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than 4 pages of color.
Tables and Figures. Tables and figures (illustrations) should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated.
Proofs. Page proofs are sent to the designated author using Taylor & Francis' EProof system. They must be checked and returned within 48 hours of receipt.
Reprints. Each corresponding author of an article will receive a PDF file of the article via email. This file is for personal use only and may not be copied and disseminated in any form without prior written permission from Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
