About the journal
The theory and applications of electrical networks is a flourishing science, these systems being ubiquitous throughout the modern industrial world. Rapid development in the analog and discrete processing of signals for communication, control, and computer systems conjoined with innovations in electrical power utilization have made the theory and applications of electrical circuitry and signal processing a burgeoning area of research and design. The aim of Circuits, Systems and Signal Processing is to help meet the need of outlets for significant research papers and state-of-the-art review articles in this area.
The scope of the journal is broad, ranging from mathematical foundations to practical engineering design, it encompasses, but is not limited to, such topics as linear and nonlinear networks, distributed circuits and systems, multi-dimensional systems, analog filters and signal processing, digital signal processing, statistical signal processing, multimedia, computer aided design, graph theory, neural systems, communication systems, and VLSI signal processing.
The Editorial Board is international, and papers are welcome from throughout the world. The journal is devoted primarily to research papers, but survey, expository, and tutorial papers are also published.
Instructions to Authors
Manuscripts
Four copies of the manuscript must be submitted to the Editor in Chief, Prof. M.N.S. Swamy. Please include a cover letter, designating the author responsible for all correspondence, with a complete and correct mailing address, as well as an e-mail address. Manuscripts will be reviewed for possible publication on the understanding that they have not been published, simultaneously submitted, or already accepted for publication elsewhere. Copies of any possibly duplicative published material should be submitted with the manuscript that is being sent for consideration. The journal strongly encourages authors to submit electronically prepared manuscripts as attachments either in ps or pdf format to cssp@ece.concordia.ca. Follow the instructions set forth here exactly. One double-spaced hard copy of the manuscript must accompany the electronic file. The first page of the manuscript should be an information sheet providing the title and a running head. The names of all authors should be listed exactly as they should appear in print, with their affiliations and e-mail addresses. For multiple authors, separate affiliations should be given as appropriate. The affiliations must be those at which the work is performed. Present addresses, if different, are to be indicated elsewhere on the page. Any footnote necessary to acknowledge financial support is to be given on the title page as well. All manuscripts should be submitted to the Editor in Chief:

Typing
Manuscripts must be typed double-spaced on only one side of each sheet of paper. Double-spacing must also be used for all references. Good photo-reproduced copies are accepted in lieu of the original typed manuscript. Other than acknowledgments for financial support, which should be given on the title page, no footnotes will be accepted. Brief parenthetical statements within the text may serve the same purpose, or, if necessary, notes may be given at the end of the paper. Endnotes are to be numbered consecutively, indicated in the text with superscript Arabic numerals, and kept very brief.
Abstract
The second element, after the title, of the manuscript should contain a short abstract of 250 words or less. The abstract should be factual, rather than descriptive, and should provide a thorough but concise summary of the paper.
Key Words
Please include appropriate key words below the abstract before the introduction of the article starts. It should not exceed 12 words.
References
References are to be cited in text by Arabic numerals (with page, sections, or chapter numbers, if necessary) enclosed in square brackets; for example, [21] or [1, pp. 8-10]. References are to be listed at the end of the typescript in the alphabetical order of the authors¡¯ surnames. In general, the following style is appropriate:
Journal articles
[1] H. Samuelson, Topology of Lie groups, Bull. Amer. Math. Soc., 58, 2-37, 1952.
Books
[2] G. N. Watson, A Treatise on the Theory of Bessel Functions, 2nd edn., Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 1962, p. 11.
Illustrations
Black-professional-ink drawings or glossy photographs must be submitted with each paper for all figures. If words and numbers are to appear in a photograph, two prints must be submitted with the lettering clearly indicated on one print only. Original line drawings (no photocopies) in India ink must be submitted so that they are suitable for immediate reproduction. Drawings should be about twice the final size. The lettering must be clear and open and must be large enough to be reproduced in the same proportion as the figure itself. If this is not possible, the lettering may be provided on a tissue overlay. Please do not make any marks or identification on the figures themselves. A label must be attached to the back of all photographs and drawings indicating the author, the figure number, and the top of the photograph or drawing. Original drawings may be identified in the margin or on a tissue overlay. Figures are to be numbered consecutively throughout the paper in Arabic numerals. A complete list of all figure legends must be submitted as the last element of the typescript on a separate sheet or sheets. The first citation of a figure in text is to be noted in the margin for placement of the figure after typesetting.
Tables
Tables must be typed in double spacing on a separate sheet for each table and with a title for each table. Please number all the tables consecutively and give each column a short or abbreviated heading. Place explanatory matter in footnotes, not in the headings. Omit horizontal and vertical rules. Cite each table in text in consecutive order, and note the first mention of each table in the margin.
Final Manuscript
The final version should be prepared either in Tex or LaTeX on a diskette. The diskette should be either a PC-formatted diskette or a Macintosh-formatted diskette. Authors who are running LINUX on their PC machines should have no trouble with this. The diskette should be accompanied by two hard copies of exactly what is sent by diskette, along with the original diagrams.
Offprints
Twenty-five offprints of each article are given to the authors free of charge. Additional offprints may be ordered at cost.
