About the journal
The Australian Journal of Zoology is an international journal that publishes papers and critical reviews that demonstrate a conceptual advance to any aspect of zoology. The focus is on the Australasian fauna, however, high quality papers from any region that have practical or theoretical relevance to any general zoological issue will be considered. Subject areas include anatomy, physiology, molecular biology, genetics, reproductive biology, developmental biology, parasitology, morphology, behaviour, ecology, zoogeography, systematics and evolution.
Instructions to Authors
Australian Journal of Zoology welcomes the submission of papers presenting original and significant research. All papers are peer reviewed, in consultation with our Editorial Board.
When preparing a paper for publication, please follow journal style and layout as closely as possible. It may help if you consult a recent copy of the journal or a sample issue online. Detailed guidelines are set out in the Notice to Authors.
There are no page charges for Australian Journal of Zoology.
Reprints
Reprints can be ordered prior to publication. An order form is sent to the corresponding author with final page proofs.
CSIRO PUBLISHING supplies the corresponding authors with a free PDF of their paper upon publication. Authors may also order hardcopy reprints of their papers at the time they complete author corrections. Authors may create links to their papers from their personal webpages. All papers are also available from our website either by subscription or sale of individual papers.
Indexing/Abstracting
The journal is indexed/abstracted in a wide variety of databases.

Editorial Board
Acceptance of papers for the Australian Journal of Zoology is undertaken by the team of Editors under the guidance of the Editor-in-Chief. All papers are refereed. Editorial Board members adjudicate in the case of conflicting or adverse reports.
