About the journal
Annales Geophysicae (ANGEO) is the official open access journal of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) in the field of Solar Terrestrial Physics. Annales Geophysicae is an international, multi- and inter-disciplinary scientific journal for the publication of original articles and of short communications (Letters) for the sciences of the Sun-Earth system, including the science of Space Weather, the Solar-Terrestrial plasma physics, and the Earth's atmosphere, as specified in one or more of the following fields:
Solar Corona and Heliosphere: Physics and dynamics of the solar atmosphere, chromosphere and corona (including emissions, ejections and magnetic activity), interplanetary, heliospheric and solar wind physics;
Magnetosphere and Space Plasma Physics: Plasma physics of the interaction between the solar wind and the Earth or with other magnetized or un-magnetized planetary environments; physics of the terrestrial and planetary magnetospheres, including in-situ or remote-sensing active plasma experiments;
Ionosphere and Aeronomy: Physics and aeronomy of the ionospheres and exospheres of the Earth and planets, including auroral activity, middle-, low-latitude and equatorial ionosphere, geomagnetism and magnetic activity;
Middle and Upper Atmosphere: Physics, dynamics, chemistry and aeronomy of the middle and upper atmosphere of the Earth;
Lower Atmosphere and Climate: Physical and chemical processes of the troposphere; atmospheric boundary layer and surface processes; meteorology and climate variation;
Annales Geophysicae is published monthly and offers:
Regular Issues
Free online access for readers, moderate service charges for authors;
All papers peer-reviewed by two referees to international standards;
No limit on page numbers, other than that the length should be appropriate to the significance;
No extra charges for colour figures.
"AnGeo Communicates"
Aims to provide a medium for short reports (up to 4 published pages) of new significant results;
Rapid publication ensured by only one referee review;
Free online access for readers, moderate service charges for authors.
Special Issues and Special Topics:
Special issues (or special topics in a regular issue) can be organised on relevant topics of particular interest;
Article length is limited to 12 pages;
Free online access for readers, moderate service charges for authors;
No extra charges for colour figures;
Efforts for ensuring a publication as quickly as possible (9-10 months usual, down to 6 months for very special cases).
Indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science) , Scopus, ADS, Current Contents GeoRef and J-Gate. Included in the Bodleian Library (UK), Deutsche Bibliothek (D) and Library of Congress (USA). Long-term e-archived in Portico
Instructions to Authors
Submittal Information Submittal in LaTeX (package) Submittal in WORD (.doc or .rtf) Guidelines for Manuscripts & Articles Before Submission: Authors are invited to follow the Annales Geophysicae style when preparing their manuscripts and to follow these Guidelines for Manuscripts & Articles.
See also these Graphic Guidelines for figures preparation.
Submission Instructions: While submissions on paper are granted, authors are strongly encouraged to submit their manuscript in electronic form: see the Detailed Submission Instructions.
The same procedure holds also for revised versions until final acceptance.
Accepted papers: Final version of accepted papers have to be checked by the Editorial Office and are then produced by the EGU-Copernicus Production Department. When your paper is accepted by the Editorial Office, please follow these Production Instructions.
Final inspection (Proofs Verification): Instructions for the Final inspection and approval by the Authors.
