Acta Applicandae Mathematicae is devoted to the art and techniques of applying mathematics, and the development of new, applicable mathematical theories. It contains papers on the different aspects of the relation between theory and application: descriptive papers on actual applications, papers on the techniques and methods when applying existing mathematical tools (i.e., in working examples) and, of particular importance, papers on mathematics motivated by the prospect of potential application, and on those established parts of mathematics which seem to be on the threshold of application. Longer, survey-type papers, and also state-of-the-art review papers which are written with a broad and varied readership in mind are particularly encouraged.

Instructions to Authors
Acta Applicandae Mathematicae prefers the submission of papers in LaTeX, however, appers submitted in Amstex, Lamstex, and for conventional typesetting, can also be accepted.
For the purpose of refereeing, papers for publication should be initially submitted in hardcopy (fourfold) to: The Journals Office

The eventual supply of accepted-for-publication papers in their final form on MS-DOS or Apple Macintosch diskettes in LaTeX, together with a hardcopy version (in case anything needs to be checked), will ensure more rapid publication.

Manuscripts which are submitted in typewritten form should be typed double-spaced on one side of plain paper, with wide margins for editorial notes and mark-up. All equations and symbols should be typed, if possible; in any case, clarity is essential. The first page of the manuscript should contain the article title, author's name, affiliation, and present address (for correspondence), a short abstract, key words, and relevant AMS mathematics subject classifications (1991), and, if necessary, a running headline (condensed title) which should not exceed 60 characters, including spaces. Each page should be consecutively numbered, including pages of references and captions.
Papers intended for publication should be written in English.
Books for Review should be sent direct to the Managing Editor of the journal.
Offprints: 25 offprints of each article will be provided free of charge. Additional offprints can be ordered when the proofs are returned to the publisher.
No page charges are levied on authors or institutions.
