About the journal
From 1971 the Faculty of PE has been publishing the scientific journal "Kineziologija". It has been secondary referenced since 1985, and internationally recognized as an international scientific journal by the Croatian Ministry of Science and Technology since 1995. In the period 1996-2000 the journal was issued in two languages - Croatian (Kineziologija) and English (Kinesiology). Since the 32nd volume (2000) it has been published only in the English language, but each article is provided with an extended summary in the Croatian language. It is indexed in: American Psychological Abstracts: PsycLIT nad PsycINFO, SportDISCUS, SIIC - Argentina, EBSCO - Current Awarreness, Index Copernicus. From the Vol. 40, No. 1, year 2008 the journal has been included for coverage in the Thomson Reuters' indexes and services: Science Citation Index Expanded (also known as SciSearch®), Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition®, Social SciSearch®, Social Sciences Citation Index, Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences Edition®, Focus On: Sports Science & Medicine. Original scientific papers, reviews, preliminary communications and professional papers are published, written by both Croatian and foreign authors, that have been subjected to a double anonimous evaluation and have received positive reviews from prominent domestic and international peer referees, kinesiologists and scientists from adjacent and cognate fields. Kinesiology (an English equivalent is sports science) is an empirical transdisciplinar general science field that uses primarily an experimental approach in its comprehensive investigation of principles and regularities of human movement or physical activity and exercise, where humans are observed as integral bio-psycho-social beings. It also investigates the regularities of the management of the systematic, goal-oriented exercise and training processes, which include systematic motor learning, exercising and mastering of motor skills and knowledge in the domains of physical education, sport, physical recreation and kinesitherapy. Further, it is focused on determining and modelling the influence of programmed exercise and sporting activities on any consequent, expected and planned changes in the human psychosomatic and social status. Therefore, the journal publish articles dealing with identification, assessment and evaluation of changes in the space of human characteristics, abilities and motor knowledge and skills, induced by the managed, goal-oriented processes of exercising. Different approaches are allowed to the mentioned scientific issues, like biological, psychological, social, educational, philosophic, ethical, economical, and cultural. These changes are induced, observed and analysed from the cellular level to the widest socio-cultural levels.
