About the journal Russell is devoted to the study of all aspects of Bertrand Russell's thought as well as his life, times and influence. In addition to original research and reviews of new books, Russell publishes new texts and textual studies, discussions, bibliographies, indexes, and archival lists. Scholarly articles submitted to the journal are peer-reviewed anonymously. Russell is not the organ of any association or institution.
Russell is published by McMaster University's Bertrand Russell Research Centre with the assistance of grants from the Aid to Journals programme of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and from McMaster's Faculty of Humanities.
Note: Russell (ISSN 0036-0163) was founded by McMaster Library in 1971 as a quarterly. Until 1980 it was numbered by cumulative issue number. A new series was begun as Vol. 1, no. 1 in Summer 1981. Here the old series is assigned to Vols. 91-100.
Instructions to Authors
Submissions: Advice to Authors and Publishers
Manuscripts (two copies) and books for review should be addressed to The Editor. Scholarly papers are refereed by the double-blind method, so identification of the author should be easily removable. After acceptance, final manuscripts should be submitted electronically in WordPerfect or Word, with real footnotes or endnotes, and accompanied by a paper version that is doublespaced (including quotations, equations, notes and any references). References should make use, where applicable, of the abbreviations for frequently cited works in Russell Studies listed on the last pages of the journal. Authors will be sent page proofs for correction.
