About the journal

Revista Signos was founded in 1967 and, for almost four decades, it received research studies in the fields of language sciences and literature. From 2005 on, this journal has been redefined and now centers exclusively on linguistics and some interdisciplines. Published studies are original manuscripts of theoretical as well as applied scientific research, either in English or Spanish, whose subjects focus on the areas of psycholinguistics, text linguistics, discourse linguistics, and applied linguistics.

The publication of Revista Signos has also been increased in three issues a year.

Revista Signos disseminates specialized knowledge of the areas mentioned above; at the same time, it encourages and furthers academic exchange among researchers on an international level.

Originality and scientific quality of the research articles are submitted to international blind review by at least two judges, members of the Scientific Editorial Board or members of the international community of specialists.

Instructions to Authors
INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Scope and policy

Articles for publication must be submitted to Editor Revista Signos, Instituto de Literatura y Ciencias del Lenguaje, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Avenida Brasil 2830, Valparaíso, Chile.

All submitted articles should conform to the thematic scope and formal requirements of Revista Signos.

The Editor reserves the right to both not send for review those manuscripts that do not conform to the Guidelines for Publication in Revista Signos and edit the format of the original accepted.

The manuscript is reviewed by two external anonymous readers who, because of their affiliation to other
institutions and universities, take at least four months to make their decisions. The Editor will inform the author(s) about the possibility of publishing his or her (their) manuscript.

Once the review report has been sent, a new version of the article should be received within 45 days. After that deadline, it will be understood that the author(s) has (have) decided not to continue with the editorial process.

The Editor reserves the right to include articles accepted for publication in the issue he deems appropriate. Authors are responsible for both the scientific content of their manuscript and the opinions expressed, which are not necessarily endorsed by the Editor. The author(s) will receive 20 offprints and one issue of the journal free of charge.
